David Edward Wharton was born Feb. 10, 1950 in Timpson, Texas died Feb. 16, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Tx. David is preceded in death by his parents Cecil Wharton and Merrian Wharton of Timpson, TX. And brother J.C. Wharton.

David is survived by his wife Carla Wharton and son Blake Morrison of Sam Rayburn, TX. Sisters; Cecilia Erland of Moody, TX., and Merrie Norris of Longview, TX. And one brother Fred Wharton of Timpson, TX.

David graduated from high school in Timpson and went on to further his education at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas where he earned his degree in education. In 1974 David started his career as a professional bass fisherman and successfully earned his place in the fishing world. David was a loving husband, father and great friend to all. He will be greatly missed. WE LOVE YOU.

Memorial services will be held at Lake Rayburn United Methodist Church, Feb. 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.

John Wayne Schulz, age 63, of Timpson passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at his home in the Silas Community, Timpson. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Timpson with Bro. Cliff Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Born October 30, 1945, in New Braunfels, Texas, John was the son of the laste Raymond Henry and Ester (Seekatz) Schulz. During his childhood his family lived in Seguin, Texas and he graduated from LaMarque High School in LaMarque, Texas. He and Sue Lynn Brittain were married March 16, 1966 and moved to Timpson in 1970. John was an installer for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 32 yers until his retirement. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Timpson where he served as church clerk, sunday school teacher and leader of the Children's Bible Storytime.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Schulz of Timpson, son Travis Schulz adn wife Leslie of Center, Texas, daughters Terri Alford and husband David of Timpson, Janice Hughes and husband Rodney of Carthage and Rebecca Oliver and husband Justin of Timpson, sister Diana Davenport and husband Paul of Greenville, NC, 7 grandchildren, Wayne Alford and wife Mary, Kellie Walker and husband Noah, Megan Anthony and husbnd James, Ashley Schulz, Michaela Schulz, Granger Hugehes, and Gretta Oliver and 2 great grandchildren, Blake Walker and Bella ALford. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brother Raymond Schutz.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Sunday, February 21, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson.

Birdie Cocker: On Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, Birdie Crocker age 86 left this life and walked into the arms of Jesus.

Birdie Crocker was born in Center, TX, March10, 1922 to Lee and Leona Lout. Birdie was a devoted Christian and lived her life according to her beliefs in the Word of God.

Family visitation will be 6PM to 8PM Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Mangum Funeral Home.

Services will be in the Mangum Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, Feb. 20 at 2PM conducted by pastors Dathan Triplett and Kerry Green and Special tribute by Eric Bartley. Burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Luther Conway, Robert Parker, Bobby Lout, Alton Lout, Roger Reneau, and James Reneau.

Birdie leaves behind one daughter, Betty Chilton of Waco, TX and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Birdie is also survived by four sisters Johnnie Hutto, Waskom, TX, La Verne Smith, Port Arthur, TX, Jean Jackson, Benton, LA, Tommie Rohrer, Sacramento, CA, and one brother James Paul Lout, Conroe, TX.

Birdie was preceded in death by her Parents, Lee and Leona Lout, Husband Leo Crocker, Son, Wayne Crocker, and Daughter Joy Crocker, 3 Brothers, Maurice Lout, P.L. Lout, Walter Earl Wilburn and 2 Sisters Lucille Wilburn and Willie Ruth Rouvaldt.

Roy Lee Hall Sr., services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson, Texas, with Bro. Joey Cranford officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Corinth Cemetery, Timpson. Mr. Hall passed away February 17, 2009, at his home in Gary, Texas.

Born September 24, 1931, in Oswego, Kansas, Roy Lee Hall, Sr. was the son of the late J.B. Estler and Myrtle (White) Estler Blane. He entered the U.S. Army in 1949 and retired after twenty years of service. He was happily married for 40 years to Katherine Ann (Ingalls) Hall until her death in 1998.

Survivors include 
5 sons: Ricky L. Hall of Kansas City, MO, Kenneth W. Shaffer, Jr. of Sealy, Texas, Randy L. Hall of Springfield, MO., Roy L. Hall Jr. of Pearland, Texas and Rocky L. Hall of Sealy, Texas.
4 daughters: Betty Lathrom of Missouri, Denise Moon of Angleton, Kimberly Evans of Spring and Terri Jo Miller of Angleton.
35 Grandchildren and 26 Great grandchildren. Mr. Hall was pereced in death by his parents, wife Katherine Hall, son, Rex Hall, daughter Aline Branham and brother Joseph Hall

Barbara Lout, 70, of Center, passed away Wednesday February 18, 2009 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 21, 2009 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Wigley and Rev. Darryl Harless officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday February 20, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

She was born November 20, 1938 in Rusk County to Jessie and Lily May (Warren) McCune. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was in the insurance business for over 30 years. 

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Jessie and May McCune.

William “Bill” Fowler, Jr., 78, of Center, formerly of Shreveport, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Green Acres Nursing Center. He was born April 23, 1930 in Shreveport, Louisiana to William James Fowler, Sr. and Ann Fletcher Fowler. Mr. Fowler was a devout Christian. He had worked as a furniture salesman his entire life and had won many, many awards. Mr. Fowler was a Korean Veteran, having served in both the Army and Air Force.

At Mr. Fowler’s request, his body has been donated to science, and there will be no services.

L.C. “Huff” Hufferd, 95, of Center, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009 at Green Acres Nursing Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Watson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 18th at the First United Methodist Church in Center with Rev. Greg Megill officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

He was born February 19, 1913, in Iola, Kansas, the third child of Frank Elmer Hufferd and Lillie Mae Vancil Hufferd. When Lillie Mae died in 1916, Frank left Lowell, Francis and Farrell with Lillie’s sister, Coca, and her husband Jesse Howard. Lowell grew up in Iola in the Howards’ home.

When he was 17 he moved to Dallas to join his brother and began working as an apprentice butcher. He met his future bride, Ople, in the fall of 1931 on a double date at the Texas State Fair. They enjoyed a roller coaster ride together that lasted 70-plus years. Huff and Cordious Ople Verner married September 17, 1933.

Huff worked as a butcher, a grocery wholesale deliverer, a restaurant owner and operator and a grocery store manager, among other occupations. He joined the army in 1943 and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He returned home from England in 1945 on the Queen Elizabeth with 14,000 other troops, and was honorably discharged. He enlisted in the Army Ready Reserve in 1952 and was discharged in 1955.

Huff and Ople lived in various places besides Dallas and several army camp towns, including Brownsville, where their son Lowell Clifton Hufferd, Jr. “Top” was born, and Greenville, where their daughter, Nancy, was born.

In 1954, the Hufferds moved to Center where Huff managed the Piggly Wiggly grocery store and was involved with the Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, DECA, the Lake Country Inn development, and the First United Methodist Church as a board member, trustee, and Sally Burns Sunday School Class president. He and Ople also enjoyed golf, fishing, boating, traveling with friends, and Huff was a member of the Center Hunt Club.

His family and friends will miss him, but rejoice that he is now in the presence of his Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Carl W. Kirkpatrick, (Kirk), 75, a former longtime employee of the Nacogdoches Police Department, passed away Saturday afternoon at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born May 4, 1933 in Madsonville, TX. He was the second of eight children born to Steve and Ida Gustavus Kirkpatrick. Mr. Kirkpatrick served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, serving in the Korean Conflict and stationed in Alaska before being honorably discharged. On Feb. 4, 1956 Mr. Kirkpatrick married Martha Lavenia King. After taking up residence in Nacogdoches in 1957, Mr. Kirkpatrick attended Stephen F. Austin State University and Kilgore Jr. College, studying Criminal Justice, receiving over 4000 credit hours in his ongoing studies in law enforcement. Mr. Kirkpatrick also attended Texas A & M where he studied to become a polygraph examiner, with 2 years of internship in Houston, after which he became a polygraph examiner. In 1962 he was hired by Nacogdoches Police Department as a police officer. During his time with the department he served under 5 different police chiefs including M.C. Robuck. Mr Kirkpatrick is also remembered as being one of the "Robuck¹s Raiders." Over the years he advanced from patrolman to Lieutenant. He retired from the police force in 1995 but continued doing polygraph examinations for several more years. Carl loved God, his country and family. He taught his children these same values. He and his family were members of the Nacogdoches Missionary Baptist Church for several years. He loved to go fishing, which he did every chance he got over the years. When he wasn¹t working or fishing you could find him working on or riding his vintage Indian Motorcycle. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha Kirkpatrick of Nacogdoches; daughters, Donna Kirkpatrick of Nacogdoches, Danita Miles and her fiance Randy Sherrer of Nacogdoches, granddaughter Kathrine (Katie) Boles and husband Nolan of Nacogdoches; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Boles of Nacogdoches. He has three sisters, Mozelle Anderson and husband Charlie of Dodge, Texas, Edith Henry of Brazoria, Texas, and Tommie Case and husband Gene of Brazoria, Texas. He also has two brothers, Clyde Kirkpatrick and wife Lewanna of Lufkin, Texas, and Herbert Kirkpatrick and wife Pat of Jasper, Texas, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Ida Kirkpatrick; one brother, Robert Kirkpatrick; and one sister, Vivian Frankum.. Visitation for Lt. Kirkpatrick will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb.. 16, 2009 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home with services also to be held at Cason Monk-Metcalf at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009. Ms. Lerlene Spells, 91, of Center, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Shelby Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 28, 1917 to Dick and Jennie (Dalby) Fausett. She was a member of The Messiah Baptist Church in Timpson, Texas. She worked for Red Ball Motor Freight for many years.

Charles W. Parker, 86, died February 12, 2009 and is now at peace with the Lord. He was born December 26, 1922 in Ft. Worth and grew up in Tenaha, TX. Charlie joined the Army Air Corps in 1943 and earned his wings January 7, 1944. He flew his beloved P-51 Mustang during World War II and went on to serve as an Air Force officer for 28 years flying B-52 bombers out of Westover, AFB, MA and also was stationed in Hawaii, Viet Nam and SAC HQS in Nebraska. His last assignment was Chief of the Emergency Ops Center, Ft. Ritchie, Maryland, where he retired from active duty in 1976. His love of flying airplanes continued throughout his life. Several years ago at the Randolph Air Show he 'held court' as dozens of young men gathered around a P-51 on display while he painstakingly explained every detail of the plane, drawing rousing applause at the end of his impromptu presentation. Charlie loved to tell jokes and laugh, believing worrying wouldn't 'change a thing.' He had a great smile and sense of humor and lived to play golf. His two passions-golf and the military will live on in his grandsons-Michael, now a golf pro, and Steven who plans to serve in the United States Air Force. During his last years as his health declined, Charlie was warmly embraced by his caretakers at Stone Oak Care Center, especially John in therapy and the wonderful nursing staff in the 400 hall. His family thanks all of you. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Charlie B. O'Brien Parker and is survived by three children: Bill Parker of Franklin, TN and wife Linda; Susan Parker Rodriguez of San Antonio; and Donna Parker Bannwolf and husband, Kevin; grandsons, Michael Rodriguez and wife Abbie of WI, and Steven Bannwolf, who misses his Pop-Pop. We remember his dear friend Homero Rodriguez, as well as Leloise Ponce. Charlie's kids thank him for the opportunity to see the world and for taking us to Mountain Park to ride the coaster. Perhaps the best was peacefully watching TV westerns and old movies with few words, but great comfort. We wish our dad eternal peace with our Lord and Savior. SERVICE Graveside Service will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. Harold Edward Peek, age 53, of Carthage passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 in Carthage. Harold was born October 22, 1955 in Joliet, Illinois to Hobart Harold Peek and Dorothy Dale Estes Peek. Mr. Peek was a logger and foundry worker.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Strong Cemetery in Huxley with family members officiating, interment will follow.

Charles Henry age 76 of Tenaha, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Graveside Services will be 2pm ~ Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at Sardis Cemetery with Bro. M.D. Lamon officiating.

Visitation is Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 5pm until 9pm at Mangum Funeral Home.

He was born June 13, 1932 in Timpson to parents, James Wylie & Doris Esther (Whinsenhunt) Henry. He was of the Baptist Faith. He retired from Center Plywood after 31 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wylie & Esther Henry, Sister, Jean Barton and 2 Brothers, Howard Henry & Richard Henry and Niece, Edith Whitton.

He is survived by His wife, Yvonne Henry of Tenaha

Charles Edward Hughes, 80, of Timpson, Texas, services will be at 2 PM, Sunday, February 15, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Timpson, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson. Officiating will be Rev. Josh Walters, pastor of First Baptist Church, Timpson. Mr. Hughes passed away February 11, 2009, in Green Acres Nursing Center, Center, Texas.

Born April 5, 1928, in Timpson, Charles Hughes was the son of the late Edgar Lewis and Peggy (Sapp) Hughes. He was a graduate of Timpson High School, U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and member of First Baptist Church, Timpson. He owned Hughes Boot and Saddle Shop in Timpson for 50+ years. Charles was married to Thelma (Oates) Hughes, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include step son Roger Martin of Pine Grove, LA, step daughter Jo Ann Cameron of Port Lavacca, Tx. sister Margie Baker of Conroe, Tx. 2 step grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his parents and wife Thema, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his brother Bowden Hughes.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Taylor Funeral Home.

Willa D. Coe, 80, of Kountze, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Beaumont, Tx. She was born July 27, 1928 in Martinsville, Tx. A graduate of Martinsville High School and Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, she was a teacher and principal for forty years.

Mrs. Coe is survived by her husband of fifty three years, H. A. Coe Jr.; daughters Bebe Coe Bertino of Nome and Laura Lea Coe of Pinehurst; son Henry A. Coe III of Kountze; grandchildren Kelli K. Daniel of Huntsville, Kitty D. Coe and Cooper A. Coe of Kountze; brother Charles Brown of Center and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friend Ethyl Warren.

She was preceded in death by her father Dee Brown and mother Elma Hudson, both of Martinsville.

Willa was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-aunt, teacher, coach, counselor, mentor and great friend. She will be missed by many whose lives she touched and helped out.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 PM at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church in Kountze, TX, with Rev. Bill Jobe officiating. Burial will follow at Hooks Cemetery in Kountze.

Jesse Waymon Brown, 86, of Center, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in Pine Grove Nursing Center. He was born February 16, 1922 in Shelby County, Texas to Allen Headrick Brown and Alice Pearl Wilburn Brown. Mr. Brown was a lifetime resident of Shelby County. He served in the United States Naval Service, the Civilian Conservation Corps, and was retired from Holly Farms. He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, February 13th at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 14th at Watson & Sons Chapel with Reverend Charles Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hamilton Cemetery.

Funeral service for Angie Loraine Jones were held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2009, at Laird Funeral Home with Dr. Allen Reed officiating. Burial followed in Berry Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas. Mrs. Angie Loraine Jones, age 77, of Nacogdoches passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in Nacogdoches.

She was born November 2, 1931, in Center, Texas, the daughter of the late Sam and Lossie Fowler Davis. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches and a homemaker.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Eddie Williford of Nacogdoches, Curtis and Sue Kirkland)Williford of Bastrop, Texas; and one daughter and son-in-law, Sue Williford and Calvin Evans of Temple, formerly from Nacogdoches; and a sister, Colemae Schoubroek of Joaquin, Texas.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Nicholas Shoalmire, Wade Williford, Aaron Williford and LeeAnna Farmer; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angela Robin Shoalmire.

She was married to Billy F. Jones who also preceded her in death.

John T. Baggett, 77, of Center passed away February 8, 2009 at nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He was born July 29, 1931 in Carthage to Rufus Baggett and Zelma Spratley Baggett. Mr. Baggett served in the Army and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was active in the Search and Rescue in Desoto Parish and he worked for the Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Department as a Narcotic Agent. He loved his dog Cuddles. He was an outdoorsman and he loved to hunt, fish, rope and golf. He was a member of the Old Spanish Trial Ride.

Mr. Earl Hardy, age 81 of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009.

Mr. Hardy was born Dec. 22, 1927, as a son of Edna Cox Hardy and Curtis Johnson Hardy and was a longtime area resident. He was a retired pipeliner, having worked with Local #450, and U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of San Augustine Missionary Baptist Church.

Melvin Clinton Sears, Jr., 82, of Dayton died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Hearn Health Care Center in Bryan.

Miriam Ann Capps was born at home in the Pleasant Hill Community June 25, 1933. She passed from this life to her eternal home on February 4, 2009. She was a lifelong, faithful member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Capps was a former member of the Henderson Art League winning several awards for her landscape paintings. She also loved to sing and began her music career in the church choir. Later, she was offered a contract with Capitol Records, which she turned down due to family devotion. During this time, she released several records that were well received. Throughout her life, she touched many people through music whether in the church choir or performing in benefits for various causes. Although she loved performing, the greatest loves of her life were her Heavenly Father and her family. She taught by example illustrating the importance of having faith in God and nurturing a loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Overton, Texas with Reverend Dean Grigsby officiating assisted by Reverend Pete Thompson. After retirement she and her husband, A.J. relocated to his homeplace of Joaquin, there they enjoyed many years of travel, site seeing, fishing and many church and community activities. She was a member of Eastern Star and a member of First Baptist Church in Joaquin. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboy Fan for many many years.

J.D. Windham, 66, of Glendale, AZ., passed away December 4, 2008 at his home following a 19 month struggle with cancer.

Born December 30, 1941 in Center, Texas to P.R. and Ruby (Jordon) Windham, who preceded him as well as 2 sisters.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. J.D. spent the majority of his working years driving trucks out of the Houston area. Moving to Arizona in the early 1980's and ending with his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service in 2004. J.D. had a passion for the excitement of a wager of any nature, either from raising and racing thoroughbreds, to a sports pool or a casino excursion, all of the above were shared and enjoyed by many friends and co workers.

J.D. is survived by his wife Betty; 5 children: Jason (Micaela) Special Granddaughter Alyssa, Phoenix;

Thomas Lymn, age 83 of Center passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at his home in the Neuville Community.

Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cliff Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at McClelland Cemetery in Shelbyville with Military Graveside Service under the direction of the Local VFW Post 8904.

He was born May 24, 1925 in New York City to Parents, Thomas Lymn, Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Moffett Lymn.

He was a Submarine Sailor and served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Croaker. He was an Electrical Engineer and worked for Sheffield Steel in Houston for 15 years. He also worked for Holly Farms – Tyson for 18 years. He was a member of McClelland Baptist Church.

Robert Harlon Wagstaff, 88, of Bronson died December 23, 2008, in Newton, Texas. He was born October 9, 1920, in Shelby County to Richard and Pearl Permenter Wagstaff, the seventy of nine children. He had been a resident of Sabine County for forty-one years.

Robert attended various schools in Shelby County and graduated from Tenaha High School in 1939. He immediately enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College. On November 4, 1942, he volunteered for the Army Air Corps. He trained in Las Vegas at AAF Gunnery School (Spec Sperry Turrets). He was assigned as a tail gunner on a B26 Martin Marauder and flew 56 missions over Europe from bases in England, France and Belgium. He attained the rank of Staff Sgt. and was discharged on July 7, 1945. IN the fall of 1945, he returned to Stephen F. Austin and earned his degree.

He worked 39 years as a teacher, coach and administrator in the public schools of Texas. He was employed by Brazosport ISD in Freeport for 11 years, Lufkin ISD for 10 years and West Sabine ISD for 18 years. During his tenure at Brazosport, he earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Houston. He retired as superintendent at West Sabine ISD in 1985.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bettye Bragg Wagstaff of Bronson, daughter Lou Ann Wagstaff of Whitehouse, a granddaughter Cory and her husband Rob Blackmon, great grandchildren Caylor Brynn Balckmon, Brock Wagstaff Blackmon and Tyler Robert Blackmon all of Brownsboro, TX, a sister Neta Hanna of Jacksonville, brothers-in-law Winfred Wright of Port Neches and Hollis McMullen of Quitman, TX and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his son, Jon Robert Wagstaff.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St, Hemphill, TX.

Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 27, 2008, in the Starr funeral Home chapel with Bro. Gene Samford officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Center, TX.

Harold Loyd McDonald, age 84 of Center, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in Shreveport, LA.

Services will be 2 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Center with Rev. Greg Megill officiating. Military graveside service will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center under the direction of the VFW post 8904. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 4 pm until 8 pm at Mangum Funeral Home.
He was born October 2, 1924 in Burleson, Texas to Father, J. D. McDonald & Mother, Bessie Garrettt McDonald.

He graduated from Burleson High School and Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth. He served in the United States Navy during WW II in the Asia, Pacific Theatre as a Lieutenant JG. He was officer in charge LCT 816.

After his military service and graduation, he went to work for Universal Mills in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1954 he and his family moved to Center, Texas for Universal Mills and set up Red Chain Feed. In 1956 he purchased Red Chain Feed which later became Southern Broilers. He was proud to be part of the group of entrepreneurs and friends who pioneered and developed the poultry business in East Texas. He loved fishing, hunting, and picking the guitar and singing with his friends. He was active working with Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts in Center with his sons and many other boys. He taught Sunday School and lead MYF at the First Methodist Church in Center for many years. Also he was a Lay speaker & leader at the church. He was past President of the Center Chamber of Commerce, member of the Center Lions Club and a Mason. He also was a member of the original Center Hunting Club. In raising his boys he instilled in them responsibility and hard work ethics. He was a firm believer in education and assured that his boys were educated. He always told his family that he loved them.

He is preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Alice Marie Moss McDonald and Son, Mark McDonald.

He served in the Army during Vietnam and was of the Baptist faith.

Born in Hugo, Oklahoma, on May 21, 1928, Frankie was the daughter of the late Ernest and Grace (Carriger) Stevens. She was a graduate of Joaquin High School and was married to E.F. "Red" Beard Jr. on December 7, 1950.

He previously resided at Bill’s Landing in Huxley where he made perch traps and sold them and continued doing this when he entered the nursing home. He had a passion for fishing and hunting.

Helen Cockrell Powdrill, 85, of Joaquin passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Center. Helen was born September 22, 1923 in Joaquin to Walter Eugene Jeans and Ella Belle O'Rear Jeans. Ms. Powdrill was a member of the Jackson Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Watson & Sons Chapel in Center with Rev. Wayne Bickley and Rev. Mike Cross officiating. Interment will be in the Lone Cedar Cemetery in Shelby County.

Hersel Anthony, 86, of Vinton, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2008 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Hank Perkins, chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #2775 in Orange. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Orange with Military Honors to be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard of Fort Polk, Louisiana. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Born on June 29, 1922 in Center, Texas to Simion and Eva Anthony, he moved to Orange after being honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1945 while serving during World War II, he then moved to Vinton, Louisiana in 1968 and remained there until his passing. The last of seven children, he enjoyed playing basketball as a young man and enjoyed watching baseball. Mr. Anthony worked for and retired from the Levingston Shipbuilding Company in Orange as an attendant in the tool room.

Preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Eula Bell Willis and his brothers, Louis Anthony, J. M. Anthony, Buck Anthony and John Anthony, those who will most cherish his memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Lillian (Hughes) Anthony of Vinton; his daughters, Dianne McKinney and her husband Richard of Orange and Sharron Ann Hickman and her husband Hollis of Orange; her grandsons, Jason Dean Ramsey and his wife Sharon of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Jeremy David Ramsey and wife Stephanie of Vinton; three great-grandchildren, Stormi Ramsey, Hannah Esponge and Sydney Ramsey.

Temple Olenick, age 90 of Joaquin passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008.

She was born July 14, 1918 in Joaquin, Texas to Parents, Rev. Richard & Primrose (Cockrell) Bazer and she passed away peacefully at her home after a lengthy illness. She will be remembered for her wit, humor and love.

She was a Registered Nurse for many years and worked for Jasper Home Health, Mansfield Hospital, and St. Patricks Hospital in Lake Charles, La. After retirement she worked summers for Crystal Lake in Joaquin. She was a member of First Baptist Church Joaquin.

Richard Abner Whiddon, died on December 6 at his home in Hidaway surrounded by family and friends. He was born on December 31, 1936 and raised in Joaquin, Texas. He attended Stephen F. Austin College before entering the Army and serving three years. Because of his unique love of people, he was very successful in his life's career of insurance sales, training and management. He retired to Hideawy in 2000. He was active in the community with extra focus on the goals of the Hideaway Kiwanis Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cynthia Cockrell and Orren Cox Whiddon and son Allen Whiddon. Born in Timpson, Texas, on October 22, 1910, Eula Frazier Haden was the daughter of the late Ike and Pearl(Culbertson) Frazier. She married C.D. "Moxie" Haden, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of Highway Tabernacle.

Survivors include daughter Anne Haden Conway of Timpson, granddaughter Cheyanne Davis and husband Matt of Nacogdoches and great grandson Kainehn Davis. In addition to her parents and husband Moxie, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Dwayne Sowell officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, Timpson. Mr. Billingsley passed away October 30, 2008, surrounded by his family at his home in Timpson.

Born March 1, 1936, in Timpson, Carlos Byron Billingsley was the son of the late James Robert and Zella (Ramsey) Billingsley. He and Gwen hudson were married in the Wedgeworth Community of Shelby County on May 14, 1956. Byron worked as a mechanic for Brown & Root, Southern Pacific Railroad and CAPCO. He was a member of Timpson Church of Christ and trustee for Shady Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Gwen Hudson Billingsley of Timpson; daughter Beth Andrews and husband Pete of Timpson; sister Nina Ruth Hughes of Center, Texas; 2 grandchildren: Dana and Kylie Andrews of Timpson. In addition to his parents, Byron was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Billinglsey.

Services for Vernon Wayne Johnson, age 56, of Bullard, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in the chapel of Stewart Family Funeral Home with Neil McClendon and James Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Bullard Cemetery in Bullard under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at his home in Bullard. He was born on December 10, 1951 in Lufkin to Vernon and Georgia Johnson.
He attended Bethany College in Bethany, Oklahoma and graduated in 1972 from Nazarene Church Seminary in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. Johnson was a certified Insurance Agent and worked for Sterling/AON Insurance Company as a salesman and then manager for five years. For four years, he was named Top Market Manager of Sterling Insurance and was a Round Table member for three consecutive years.

Mr. Johnson was a member of First Baptist Church in Neches and served as director of music.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Ray Johnson.

He is survived by a loving family including his wife, Toni Johnson of Bullard; his parents, Vernon and Georgia Johnson of Stuart, Virginia; a son, Jeffrey Wayne Johnson and wife Wendy of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; two daughters, Nicole Clark and husband Chant, Natalie Jones and husband Brad, both of Center; a step-daughter, Tina Hardaway of Houston; two sisters, Branita (Pug) Beeson and husband Leon of Temple and Donna Kay Zabodyn and husband Jeff of Elon, North Carolina; a brother, Rodney Glen Johnson and wife Sherry of Burlington, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Robbie Johnson of Houston; grandchildren Cayden Johnson, Cole Clark, Christian Clark, Brook Sadler, Britney Sadler, Whitney Harrod, Kennedie Smith, and Breanna Jones; and nephews Lloyd Baldridge of Austin and Jeffery Zabodyn of Elon, North Carolina.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Oliver, Jimmy Batchelor, Jerry Smitherton, Todd Thoene, John Lageman, J.D. Hart, and Dan Bridges. Honorary pallbearers will be the male employees of Sterling Insurance.

Visitation is scheduled from 5:30-8:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2008 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.

Born August 10, 1934, in Timpson, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Lena (Bogue) Williams. She attended Denton Lab School and on January 5, 1953, she married Bob Mason in Decatur, Texas. She was co-owner of Bob Mason Service Station and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Mason of Denton, daughter, Delia Mason Weiss and husband Richard of Plano, sister-in-law, Molena Carson and husband Charles, nieces, Linda Schertz and husband Terrry, Cecile Carson, Betty Sue Cowsert and husband Gulley, Belinda Castillo and husband Robert, nephew, Tom Carson and wife Shelley, and a large number of great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Mike Mason, 2 sisters, Julene Smith and Vicky Lynn Williams and brother, Gilbert Ray Williams.

Allen Joe Hicks was born on April 27, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, the second son born to the marriage of A. J. and Jo Ann Johnson Hicks. He attended Carthage schools. He married Belinda Sheffer on July 3, 1982, in Marshall. In the late seventies and early eighties, Allen Joe worked for Carthage Muffler and Tire. In 1985, he established Allen Joe’s Muffler and Wrecker Service. For the past twelve years, he and his wife have owned the Corner Café in Deadwood and also Allen Joe and Sons Portable Buildings. Mr. Hicks was a member and past president of the Sons of the American Legion. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. He lived most of his life in the Carthage area, was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Allen Joe was a hard worker who loved his family dearly. He fought a hard battle with cancer for nearly two years. He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, David Ray Hicks and Robert Lee Hicks; and one uncle, Bobby Wayne Johnson.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Belinda Sue Hicks of Carthage; mother, Jo Ann Hicks of Carthage; two sons, Aaron Hicks and wife Bobbie of Carthage and Allen Joe Hicks, Jr. and wife Shannon of Chapel Hill; one daughter, Lisa Kay Brinkman and husband Chris of Carthage; two brothers, Thomas Dale Hicks and wife Rebecca Kaye and Mark Hicks and wife Jamie all of Carthage; four grandchildren, Shelby Chevelle Meshelle, Maranda Katelynn Meshelle, Emilee Grace Hicks, and Bailee Madison Hicks; and three step-grandchildren, Trevor Yaste, and Hunter and Austin Burney; one uncle Vernon Johnson of Dallas; mother-in-law, Vida Decker of Greenwood; four sisters-in-law, Sharon Gunstream of Shreveport, Vickie Carter of Marshall, Lisa Spraberry and husband Terry of Marshall, and Johnette Decker of Greenwood; and two special life long friends, Larry Joe Davis and Charles Whitley. Mrs. Alva Harris Ingram, age 95 of the Woods Community in Panola County, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2008, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jessie Harris officiating. Mrs. Ingram passed away on Monday night, October 20, 2008, at her home in the Woods Community.

Alva Harris Ingram was born on January 18, 1913, in Beckville, Texas, the last of nine children born to Alford and Elizabeth Shaw Harris. Mrs. Ingram graduated from Beckville High School with the class of 1931. She married Wallace Vincent Ingram on January 2, 1933, in Beckville, Texas and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage before his death on March 27, 1985. Mrs. Ingram lived all of her life in Panola County and was a member of Woods United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Reverend Edward James Harris, Matthew Harris, Reverend Chester Eugene Harris, Dallas D. Harris, Willie Gay Harris, and Odus Joseph Harris; and two sisters, Tommie Pearl Harris and Ettie Bell Harris.

Mrs. Ingram is survived by two sons, Don V. Ingram and wife Julie of Dallas, Texas and Steve B. Ingram and wife Alice of Longview, Texas; five grandchildren, Alice Ingram Mattox and husband Michael of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tiffany J. Spc. Cory Joseph Bertrand, 18 of Center, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 while serving in the U.S. Army in Qazi Bandeh, Afghanistan during his tour of duty.

Dorothy Mae Forbis age 79 of Milam passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at her residence.

Services will be 10:00 am Friday, October 10, 2008 at New Hope Baptist Church in Milam with Bro. Ric Martinez and Bro. Jack Forbis officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Milam. Visitation will be Thursday October 9, 2008 at Mangum Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

She was born December 25, 1928 in Arkansas to parents, Brown & Sally Chandler.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Brown & Sally Chandler, Brothers, A.R. Chandler, J.W. Chandler & J.B. Chandler, Sisters, Helen Marie Chandler, Ruth Brown & Dorothy Faye Chandler, Daughter-in-law, Becky Forbis and Grandson, James Ray Forbis.

She was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church in Milam where she was a nursery worker for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Auxillary in Hemphill for many years.

Georgia Rebecca "Becky" Wimberly Kelly, of Houston, Texas passed away October 6, 2008. Becky was born August 30, 1944, to Alva and Rachel Wimberly. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all she met; she was a beloved educator for over 30 years.

Otis O. Sanders, Sr., 85, of Center, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at Shelby Regional Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1923 in Longville, Louisiana to Sam Sanders and Ruby Earl Miller Sanders. Otis proudly served his country during WWII, the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a master Chief Petty Officer and was a lifetime member of the VFW.

As per his request, Mr. Sanders has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 9 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.

Mr. Hickson was born August 5, 1936 in Kaufman to Luther Edwin Hickson and Dorothy Fay Thomas Hickson. He was retired from the steel fabricating industry where he was employed as a supervisor.

Mark Wilburn, age 53 of Zwolle, LA. passed away August 30, 2008 at his home. He was born August 30, 1955 in Lufkin to Ellis Lamar WIlburn and Jo Beth Hardy WIlburn.

Mark was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outside and being with nature. Mark was of the Baptist faith and was baptized in Toledo Bend Lake in 1996. He had his own fishing business in Zwolle, known as "Today's Catch". which he built after movng to Louisiana in 1996.

Nolan Alexander Zuckero was born at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands on Wednesday, August 27, 1008 at 12:41 PM and passed on to be with God at 1:57 PM. Dr. Joe McKee, Sr., 91, of Farmersville formerly of Center, passed away Monday August 25, 2008 at Hinton Nursing Home in Farmersville, Texas.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday August 29, 2008 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Lewis & Bro. Roland Gray officiating, burial will follow at Wimberly Cemetery in Huxley. Visitation will be Thursday August 28, 2008 at Mangum Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

He was born October 25, 1916 to Vessie Henry and Lula (Bailey) McKee. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In 1943 he graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. On February 27, 1943 he married Mary Evelyn Stanley who precedes him in death.

Grady Whitton, 86, of Center, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008 in Center. He was born December 31, 1921 in Alto, Texas to James Eli Whitton and Mary Gertrude Patterson Whitton. Mr. Whitton served in the U.S. Cavalry during World War II as part of the Burma China Defensive. He continued to serve his country as a federal livestock inspector. As inspector he patrolled the Rio Grande River for illegal cattle contaminated with fever ticks. He retired to Center in 1981, where he farmed and raised his family.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Sardis Cemetery with Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating.

Orlena Victoria Tate Tatum, 70 of Center, passed away Friday, August 22, 2008 in Nacogdoches. She was born June 5, 1938 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to Woodrow Tate and Carrie Levon Chain Tate. Mrs. Tatum was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She loved to quilt and was a member of a local quilting club. She attended Campti Methodist Church.

Gene Borders, 66, of Center, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at a Shreveport hospital. He was born February 17, 1942 in Port Arthur to A.E. Borders and Susie Dearing Borders. Gene was self-employed as a logging contractor and A Borders Enterprise, LLC. He was a political activist, Activist of the Year in 2006, past president of the Texas Logging Council and on the Board of Directors of the Texas Forestry Association. Gene was a very faithful member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Center and was a trustee/board member.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 21 and all day Friday, August 22 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Mrs. LouVenia Bell (Woolf) Vance, age 71, of Lindale, Texas, died Monday, August 18, 2008, at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler. Mrs. Vance was a housewife and baptist.

Visitation will be from 9 am to 10 am with services to follow at 10 am, Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola, Texas. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola.

She was the daughter of the late Claud Woolf and the late Angelina (Hudson) Woolf and was also preceded in death by one brother, Perry W. Woolf.

She is survived by her husband Mr. Billy Vance of Mineola; two daughters, Jeanine Autrey of Monroe, La. and Misty White of Lindale, Texas; three sisters, Myrtle West of Princeton, Texas, Bessie Taylor of Mineola, Texas and Betty McIntosh of Lacombe, La.

Born January 17, 1946, in Timpson, she was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Ludie (Burgay) Beard. Yvonne was a ranch owner and LVN. She was a member of Cold Springs Baptist Church, Garrison.

Survivors include son BoJack Milford and wife Stephanie of Timpson; daughter Tracy Christopher of Timpson; 2 brothers Billy W. Beard and Carl L. Anna Belle Green, age 90, of Lake Jackson, Texas, formerly of Timpson, graveside service will be at 2 PM, Saturday, August 16, 2008, in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sammy Eldredge officiating. Mrs. Green passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in Lake Jackson.

Born in Shelby County, Texas on August 25, 1917, Anna Belle Green was the daughter of the late Homer Hamilton and Bertha (Elrod) Screws. She and Flowler Tot Green were married October 17, 1936, and enjoyed 70 years together until his death on March 29, 2007. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all. She was a member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Trina Green Taylor of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandson Alex Taylor and wife Barbra of Irmo, SC; granddaughter d'Arceyanne Taylor Scott and husband Mike of Lake Jackson; 4 great grandchildren; Wesley Taylor, Makenize Scott, Zachary Taylor and Dawson Scott. Also surviving are sisters Pauline Nix and Dovie Lee Casey, brother Leon Screws, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Paul Screws, Homer Benjamin Screws, and Homer Henry Screws, and sister Adelle Berdie Screws Stone.

Born in Timpson on September 15, 1921, Carl Johnson was the son of the late Anthony and Hattie (Todd) Johnson. He was married to the late Gerldine (William) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a Deacon of Wallace Chapel Baptist Church and worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include sons; Charles Ray Johnson of Houston and Larry Johnson of Timpson; daughters Hattie Love of Houston, Etois McLendon and husband Lavance of Irving, Texas, Gladys Faye Johnson and husband Larry of Timpson, and Jeanette Johnson of Houston. Mr. Johnson also helped rear grandson Mario Johnson and granddaughter Shauntee Simmons. Other survivors include brother Glenn Johnson of Los Angeles, CA. 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hairgrove passed away at her home on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Born in Nacogdoches County, Texas on December 17, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Dolly (Campbell) Lilly. She and Leon Hairgrove were married February 25, 1940 adn were blessed with 61 years together before his death August 24, 2001. Laura Hairgrove was a faithful member of Buena Vista Baptist Church for 68 years.

Gean Sholar Byrd, 83, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008. A native of Jones County, Mississippi and resident of the Beaumont area for thirty-five years, Mrs. Byrd was a nurse and later a bookkeeper for J&J Motel. Even though Gean had a many careers, her first concerns were her family and friends when they needed her. She was the first to arrive and the last to leave.

Her husband, Lynn C. Byrd preceded her in death.

Survivors include her five step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; step-great great grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; and great great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Virginia Bogard Forsyth, 100, of Tenaha, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008, at a Center nursing home.

She was born November 4, 1907 in Timpson to Thomas and Victoria Jefferson. Ms. Forsyth was a retired teacher. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Doug Reeh, age 86 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Carthage Church of Christ with Brother Mark Sloan officiating. A graveside service will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger, Texas. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Reeh passed away on Friday afternoon, August 1, 2008 in Carthage.
Douglas Charles Reeh was born on March 22, 1922 in Longview, Texas to Carl Augustus and Mamie Polk Reeh. Mr. Reeh married Florence Stone on April 7, 1962 in Silsbee, Texas. He was involved as a radio and television personality in the area for many years, working at KGAS radio much of the time. He was the co-owner, publisher, and sales manager at the Timpson Tenaha Newspaper. Mr. Reeh was member of the Timpson Chamber of Commerce, the Timpson Lions Club, the Carthage Rotary Club and the Center Rotary Club. Mr. Reeh lived in Carthage for the past 30 years and was an active member of the Carthage Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy Balles, Frances Davenport, and Kathlyn Reeh; and one brother, Thomas Reeh.

Mr. Reeh is survived by his wife of 46 years, Florence Reeh of Carthage; two sons, Daryl Reeh of Port Lavaca and Galen Reeh and wife Derylene of Round Rock; one daughter, Vera Kathlyn Dodson and husband Bobby of Port Lavaca; one step-son, Ben Tucker and wife Cindy of Paradise, TX; one step-daughter, Nancy L. Alexander and husband Lynn of Carthage; one brother, Tony Reeh of California; one sister-in-law, Becky Reeh of Shreveport; seven grandchildren, Lee Anne Sharpe and husband Patrick of Carthage, Ben Tucker, Jr. and wife Amber of Haslet, TX, Amanda Tucker of Paradise, Charlie Taylor and wife Jenna of Spring, Craig Reeh of Round Rock, Justin Reeh of Round Rock, and Kyle Russell of Port Lavaca; and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kelsey, and Kolbey Sharpe, Kylee Ruth Tucker, and Canon Taylor. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Reeh.

Serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Ben Tucker, Jr., Patrick Sharpe, and Jacob Sloan.

Lillian Dorothy Stokes, 77, of Tenaha, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 at her home.

She was born December 12, 1930. Ms Stokes was of the Catholic faith and had lived in Tenaha forty one years.

Beverly Ann (Wright) Stokes Sepulvado, age 70, of Timpson, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 while in the company of family members at her home in Timpson. Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, August 05, 2008 in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson. Officiating will be Rev. Elmeer Mathews with interment in Blair Cemetery, Timpson.

Born in Garrison, Txexas, on November 19, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Othella (Rogers) Wright, also reared by the late Buford Diamond. She and Charles H. Sepulvado were married on February 22, 2001. Beverly Ann was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, Timpson, and was employed at Sunterrace in Nacogdoches before her retirement.

Survivors include husband Charles H. Sepulvado of Timpson, son Felix Wayne Stokes and wife Belinda of Timpson; daughter Sharon Ann Parks and husband Colin of Frisco, Texas, 3 step sons Michael C. Sepulvado of Nacogdoches, Keith Edwin Sepulvado of Timpson and Donald G. Sepulvado of Pleasantville, Texas; 4 step daughters Debbie of Georgia, Melinda Grimes of Conroe, Texas, Virginia Sue Delacruz of Nacogdoches, and Jennifer Sepulvado of Timpson, brother James Reynolds of Houston, 3 sisters Dorothy Kerr of Houston;.
