March 3, 2026 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library is pleased to announce more new books in the Young Adult genre (high school/college age). These books were purchased with funds from the 2025 Texas Book Festival Grant that the library received.
December 20, 2025 - The Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library director and staff wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
The library will be closed from Wednesday, December 24 through Monday, December 29. We will also be closed December 31 and January 1.
The library will be open Saturday, December 20 from 10am until 2pm; Tuesday, December 23, and Tuesday December 30, from 10am until 6pm. Regular library hours will resume on January 2, 2026.
November 7, 2025 - The Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library staff and the Friends of the Library wish to thank the Shelby County community for your generous support during our fall book sale in October.
We greatly appreciate all the donations, volunteer hours, and purchases. The library depends on grants, donations, and fundraisers like the book sale to keep it a vital part of our community. The next book sale will be in April of 2026. Come and see us at the library!

October 28, 2025 - The Library book sale starts today! The sale began at 10am and continues each day through Saturday during regular library hours. We have lots of books of all kinds. Hardback books are $1.00 and paperback books are 50 cents. Come find your favorite authors and books at bargain prices!
October 15, 2025 - The Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library is pleased to announce that they are the recipients of the 2025 "John Reagan Harris Community Fund at East Texas Communities Foundation" Grant.
The proceeds from the grant will be used to enhance our library's services such as Hotspots and children's book collections. The grant will improve lighting in the Redditt Room and the library is also pleased to announce that, with this grant, we will begin offering the Mango Language Online Learning program and lessons to all library patrons free of charge.
