January 20, 2017 - The Paris Peace Accord ending the Vietnam War was signed on January 27, 1973, and was followed by the withdrawal of the remaining American troops. The terms of the accord called for a complete ceasefire in South Vietnam, allowed North Vietnamese forces to retain the territory they had captured, release of US prisoners of war, and called for both sides to find a political solution to the conflict.
January 17, 2017 - Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary are now taking nominations for teachers of the year in grade K-5, 6-8 and 9-12.
August 18, 2016 - August 31st, 2010 marked the official end to US Combat Operation in Iraq. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will insure the patriotism and sacrifices of this generation to include US Army Specialist Larry E. Polley, Jr. who was killed in action are never forgotten by the American people.

August 23, 2016 - Joaquin, Texas World War II Veteran, Mr. A. J. Procell has been selected by the Honor Flight Austin to be a part of a trip to the World War II Memorial in Washington D. C. This is a special Victory over Japan (VJ Day) event that will take place September 2nd, 2016.
Mr. Procell served in the US Navy and was aboard the USS North Carolina in Tokyo Bay when the formal surrender by the Japanese Empire took place on September 2, 1945. He lived and witnessed history that most of us have just read about.
August 17, 2016 - VFW 87904 Post Commander Gene Hutto welcomes the newest post member, Jennifer Adams. Jennifer earned her membership with service in the US Air Force at Osan AB, Korea.
