TV Interview of Local Veteran

July 27, 2016 - Mr. A. J. Procell of Joaquin was interviewed by Channel 3 News from Shreveport yesterday. Mr. Procell is a World War II Navy Veteran who served aboard the USS North Carolina and was in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945 and witnessed the signing of the formal Japanese surrender.

His interview is scheduled to air Sunday evening, July 31st on the 9 and 10 o’clock news. Be sure to watch or record.

In Search of Relatives of WWII and Korean War Veteran Willie Edward Windham

July 22, 2016 - I am looking for a relative of WW II and Korean War Veteran Willie Edward Windham.  Mr. Windham has been missing in action in Korea since August 12, 1950.  With our upcoming program on Wednesday, July 27th  commemorating the 63rd Anniversary of the Korean War Armistice will honor his service and sacrifice.  We would like to make a presentation to any relative of his.  Contact me at 598-2976 or chief@chiefimaging.com.

Heroes Remembered Korean War Armistice 63rd Anniversary

July 18, 2016 - On June 25, 1950, the North Korean Army began an offensive to invade South Korea that resulted in the capture of the republic’s capital, Seoul, within four days. The United States, the United Kingdom and other members of the United Nations moved to actively defend South Korea – an effort that would last until July 27, 1953, when negotiations concluded and fighting finally ended.
