October 30, 2024 - The Timpson Bear Band advanced to the Finals of the UIL State Military Marching Contest this morning, October 29, 2024. The band performed at 11am in the Prelims round of 1A/2A contest at McLane Stadium, Baylor University, Waco, Texas.

October 25, 2024 - In the first five days of Early voting, Shelby County has had 3,419 in-person voters to check in and sign the poll pad to cast their vote as of 5pm Friday, October 25. Of the 16,355 registered voters in Shelby County, 21% of them have made sure their votes count by voting early.

This weekend has extended hours for voting in-person at the Community House, 423 San Augustine Street, Center, Texas 75935:

October 25, 2024 - With their Division 1 rating earned at the UIL Region 21 Marching Band Competition, the Tenaha Roarin' Band from Tigerland advanced to the Open Class Marching Band Area Contest which is November 2 in Mineola, Texas at Mineola High School stadium. The Tiger band will perform at 2:30pm.

The top three bands in the area contest will advance to the 2A Open Class State Marching Band Contest on November 12. The Tenaha Tiger Band is a Corps style band and are competing in the Open Class Marching Contest.
