October 10, 2024 - Ambassadors of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce traveled to Tenaha for the New Chamber Member ribbon cutting event for the Tiger Shake to congratulate new owners Chad and Tina Hutto.
October 7, 2024 (Photos, video in progress) - A fan favorite event of the festival to add to everyone's bucket list is the Poultry Festival "Strut, Cluck, and Crow" Clucking Contest! Participants each brought their unique interpretations of a chicken.

October 7, 2024 (Photos in Progress) - Jheri-Lynn McSwain and Mia Munoz both won Best of Show in their division with their quilt entry in the 48th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival Quilt Show sponsored by Scull Timber.
The theme for this year's quilt show was 'Animals' and crafters showcased their quilting skills. Rene S. Kay won the theme category with her quilt, Blue Jay Way.
October 6, 2024 - The Excelsior ISD Choir lead by Tim Verner performed on the Frances Oates Stage on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the 48th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival.
October 5, 2024 (Photo Album) - There was a great turnout for the 2024 Chicken Trot 5K with 150 participants overall. In the Chicken Trot, the overall male runner was Fabio Rubeck, an exchange student from Germany, with a time of 20:20.26 and the overall female runner was Anna Hagler of Center with a time of 25:07.51.
October 4, 2024 (Photos Coming Soon) - After opening ceremonies on Thursday of the 48th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival, elementary kids took to the stage to entertain the crowd with festival favorites.
The Shelbyville 4th grade students performed a Flashback to the Past with a play list of songs "Jail House Rock," "Rockin' Robin," "Yakety Yak," “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “Hound Dog,” “Big Girls Don't Cry," "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini," "The Twist," “Rock Around the Clock,” “Rock and Roll is Here to Stay,” “At the Hop,” and "We Go Together."
