Fresh Produce Mobile Pantry Comes to Center This Friday

February 26, 2025 - East Texas Food Bank (ETFB) Mobile Pantry with fresh produce will be in the parking lot of First Baptist Church in Center, 117 Cora Street from 4pm until 5:30pm this Friday, February 28, 2025.

The Mobile Pantry is held the fourth Friday of each month. The drive-through Mobile Pantry is open to anyone needing food and there are no ID requirements.

February 20, 2025 - The Shelby County Museum is hosting an Open House for a New Exhibit on “Clubs and Organizations” on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 1-4pm.

ETCF Scholarships Available for East Texas Students

February 18, 2025 - East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for eighty-eight scholarships to be awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year. The deadline for submission of the online application is March 1, 2025. Chamber Banquet Celebrates 2024; Awards Presented to Griffin Family, Bonner, Doyle

Janaury 17, 2025 (More Photos) - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 2024 year during their annual awards banquet held at the John D. Windham Civic Center on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Top honors of the evening went to Lauren Hovey Bonner as Young Citizen of the Year, Roger Doyle received the Distinguished Service Award, and Jerry and Phyllis Griffin and Family were named Farm Family of the Year.

Shelby County Today Tribute to Contributing Writer Mike Mills

January 10, 2025 - Shelby County Today remembers Michael David "Mike" Mills who contributed articles published on the Faith Page of SCT from 2014 until 2020. Mike Mills entered into his much-anticipated Heavenly home on January 6, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.

In June 2014, Mike reached out to SCT about running a column to discuss the chapter his Bible group at Spring Hill Church would be studying. The relationship continued for six years with the 'In God's Word' weekly column.
