March 10, 2025 - VFW Post 8904 Post members and Auxiliary gathered at the Shelby County Veterans Memorial on February 28, 2025, to honor those who served in Operation Desert Storm 34 years ago.

March 3, 2025 - The Joaquin High School Girls Powerlifting Team competed in the Region 3 Championships 1A/2A against 37 schools at Commerce High School on February 28, 2025. Three Joaquin lifters placed in the Regional Meet. Paloma Salvador placed 7th in her class with a total weight of 660, Squat 250, Bench Press 150, and Dead Lift 260. Emma Barton placed 8th in her class with a total weight of 695, Squat 265, Bench Press 155, and Dead Lift 275.

February 18, 2025 - East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for eighty-eight scholarships to be awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year. The deadline for submission of the online application is March 1, 2025.
