Covid-19 Update: September Deaths Reported Exceeds August

September 2, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, three new deaths were reported today making September now surpass the total number of deaths reported in the whole month of August. August figures reached three deaths reported and September has, in just two days, reached four deaths reported.

August 31, 2021 - An Amber Alert has been issued for Ashlynn Wells, 10, and Desman Wells, 11. They were last seen at the 11200 block of US Hwy 84 West, Rusk, Texas at 1:15pm on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Garrison ISD Closes Through Sept. 7th

August 30, 2021 - Garrison ISD announced via Facebook on Sunday, August 29th they are closing until Tuesday, September 7, 2021. A letter to the Bulldog Family citied the closure is due to the high number of staff members and students experiencing battles with COVID-19. The closure includes all extracurricular practices and games during the time of closure. Practices may resume on Monday, September 6th at 2:30pm.

August 26, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, 12 new cases, 1 new death, and 19 new recoveries were reported Thursday. Estimated active cases lowered to 180.

The new cases pushed August Covid-19 numbers to 287 new cases for the month.

August 25, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, 17 new cases and 18 new recoveries were reported Wednesday. Estimated active cases are now 187.

The new cases pushed August Covid-19 numbers to 275 new cases for the month.

August 25, 2021 - Martinsville ISD posted a temporary closure notice on their Facebook page Wednesday evening and linked to a letter to MISD Families and Staff.
