September 17, 2018 - The Center Fire Department responded to a hay and barn fire September 13, 2018 at 8:15am off U.S. Highway 96 South of Center.

September 17, 2018 - Two Shelby County Grand Juries handed down over 100 indictments during the month of August. The grand juries were impaneled for the July 2018 term of the 123rd Judicial District Court.

2.5 Earthquake Recorded in Timpson

September 12, 2018 - The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has recorded another earthquake in the Timpson area.

According to the USGS a 2.5 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.0 km at 11:30pm, September 11 lasting for 5.7 seconds.

This is the second recorded earthquake in the Timpson area for the month of September as the first, a 3.2 magnitude, was recorded on September 4, 2018.

September 11, 2018 - Emergency personnel were first alerted by a Center Volunteer fireman of the incident at the intersection of CR 4356 at 5:45pm on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.

Sheriff's Department Installs New Flag Pole

September 7, 2018 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Department recently had a new flag pole installed on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Hurst Street entrance to the facility.

Once the pole was in place, an American flag and Texas flag were raised and are now on display.
