January 10, 2018 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of 54 year-old Teresa Glynn Stephens. Stephens was last seen in Shelby County in the Spring of 2016. Stephens may also go by the names Teresa Glynn Roof or Teresa Glynn Kocyba.
January 9, 2018 - Another subject has been arrested in connection with the recent burglary that occurred December 11-12, 2017 at a property on Highway 59 North in Tenaha.
January 4, 2018 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting accident on County Road 3373 in Joaquin on December 27, 2017.
Sheriff Willis Blackwell reports that a juvenile and a family member had been in the area hunting. After the individual finished hunting, the juvenile was attempting to unload his gun when the instrument accidentally discharged striking Francisco Gomez, 22 of Georgia, in the chest.
Gomez was pronounced deceased at 12:16 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 Margie Anderson.
December 12, 2017 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence located at 5772 Highway 59 North in Tenaha, Texas.
October 31, 2017 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and John Burns – Farmers Insurance would like to thank the businesses who participated in the 4th Annual Halloween in the Hole held Oct. 30 at the Center High School baseball field.
October 17, 2017 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and John Burns – Farmers Insurance Agency will host the 4th annual HALLOWEEN IN THE HOLE, Monday, October 30 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Center High School baseball field.
All Shelby County businesses and organizations are invited to participate. Participants are required to provide their own table (folding table or smaller), candy or treats, table decorations, etc. Participants need a sign on the front of their table with their name.
