July 9, 2019 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the owner of three horses, one bay gelding and two sorrels, found in the Welcome Hall area in Shelbyville.

June 13, 2019 - On June 12, 2019, a deputy with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on County Road 1210 in Center.
From past dealings, the deputy was able to identify the subject as Bradley Fountain, 31, of Center. As the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver and a female passenger fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The deputy pursued the fleeing vehicle, eventually losing sight.
May 29, 2019 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is warning area residents of a scam that is circulating in our area. This scam is referred to as the “Grandparent Scam.”
Update: The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reports Riki D’Shain Dutton surrendered himself today, May 14, 2019 into custody.
May 13, 2019 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is seeking the whereabouts of Riki D’Shain Dutton, 27, of Center. Dutton is described as a 5’6” white male and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
May 2, 2019 - Roger Eugene Wilburn, 50, of Joaquin was arrested May 1, 2019, on an outstanding warrant out of Shelby County Constable Precinct 3 Roy Cheatwood’s office for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
April 11, 2019 - The City of Palacios Police Department contacted the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) on Monday, April 8, 2019, and requested assistance is apprehending a suspect who was wanted in a violent aggravated sexual assault case that occurred in their city.
April 9, 2019 - Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies Josh Tipton and Jimmy Wagstaff, while on routine patrol, observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a car wash stall in Timpson on Monday, April 8, 2019 at approximately 12:45 p.m., .
March 6, 2019 - A scammer has been calling Shelby County residents and telling them they’re going to be arrested for missing jury duty.
The only way to keep from being arrested, according to the scammer, is to purchase gift cards and give the caller the gift card information over the phone.
The caller states he is Lieutenant Del Birdwell of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call to warn an individual of an arrest warrant.
