August 1, 2018 - According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, Hill turned himself into the Dallas County Sheriff's Office July 31. Hill posted bond and was released the same day.
July 31, 2018 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking the whereabouts of Prince Earl Hill, 50, of Center.
July 2, 2018 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a report of criminal mischief that occurred between the evening hours on June 29 and early morning hours on June 30, 2018 at the Smith Cemetery on CR 3153 in Center.
May 31, 2018 - Barber was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 in Joaquin by Pct. 3 Constable Roy Cheatwood. She was booked into the Shelby County Jail on warrants for Assault Causing Bodily Injury (M-A) $2,500 bond and Theft of Property (M-B) $1,500 bond.
May 29, 2018 - As Law Enforcement Appreciation month comes to a close, I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to my deputies and investigators at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, and to my Chief, Kevin Windham. I currently have nine deputies, four investigators and my Chief to handle upwards of 1,000 cases per month. This is an enormous task for 14 people.
May 22, 2018 - Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Griffin was dispatched to FM 2975 and FM 417 West on May 18, 2018, for an unresponsive driver stopped in the roadway. The initial call indicated two passersby were concerned that the driver may have been suffering from a medical condition because he would not wake up.
May 7, 2018 - Brittany Barber was arrested Friday, May 4, 2018 in Joaquin. Constable Pct. 3, Roy Cheatwood received information on Barber’s whereabouts and was able to locate her. Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Michael Griffin assisted in the arrest.
May 4, 2018 - Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell reports that Melony Anderson was found safe and unharmed in Batesville, MS on May 3, 2018 and three subjects were taken into custody. Elizabeth Sanford, 36, Laurel Smith, 22, and Shannon Leonard, 27, all of Center, were arrested by the Batesville Police Department (BPD) on warrants out of Shelby County for Kidnapping (F-3)
May 3, 2018 - (Update May 3, 9:39pm): The Shelby County Sheriff's Department reports Anderson was located on Thursday afternoon, and she is safe. Additonal information is pending at this time.
May 1, 2018 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office was contacted this afternoon in regards to a video circulating on Facebook. The video shows a very young child being beaten and abused by a lady in a home that was reported to be in Tenaha.
The video has been investigated by the FBI who determined the video originated in Britain. We pray for the safety and protection of this child.
