Sheriff Blackwell Warns of Impersonating Officer Incidents

July 20, 2015 - According to a press release from Shelby County Sheriff's Investigator D. J. Dickerson, Sheriff Blackwell reports that it has come to his attention that someone is impersonating officers from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Blackwell advises for the community to be aware that if anyone from his office comes to your home or business, the Officer is required to show a badge and an ID card from the Sheriff's Office before any investigation is done. They do not have the right to search anything of yours without your consent or a search warrant.

Two Arrested on Narcotics Charges Following Attempt to Flee

June 1, 2015 -Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell reports that on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at approximately 2:10am, Investigator Kevin W. Windham attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling East on FM 699. Upon initiating his emergency lights, the vehicle evaded and pulled into a residence on FM 699 in which the occupants were arrested during a felony stop.

Seeking Information About Burglaries in Jericho Community

May 8, 2015 - According to an updated press release, the Shelby County Sheriff's Department has discovered more areas which were burglarized.

Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell reports that on Friday, May 08th, 2015, unknown suspect(s) forced entry into (5) residences in Shelby County.

The areas in which the burglaries occurred were (1) on FM 417 West, (2) in the Jericho Community, (1) on County Road 1234, and (1) on County Road 1510. Suspect(s) stole firearms, boots, clothing, a Sentry safe and money.
