Eastex Telephone is aware of a variety of scams where our customers have been contacted with  the caller demanding payment immediately, usually by requesting a credit card or bank account information.

Eastex does not call our customers demanding payment on their account. Any contact regarding payment is by Postal Mail. Eastex believes a customer should never give personal information to anyone who calls the customer. Only provide personal information when you originate the call.

May 25, 2016 - SCT Update: Following a multi-agency foot persuit through thickly wooded area, Angel has been apprehended and is once again in the custody of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. More information will be provided as it is made available.

May 13, 2016 - Shelby County Sheriff Willis Blackwell reports that on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at approximately 11:55 p.m., Shelby County dispatchers received a call of a shooting incident that had occurred at a residence on FM 415 in Timpson.

Blackwell, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and investigators responded to the residence and found that a Jeffery Hudson had shot a male subject identified as Keith Green upon Green forcibly making entry into Hudson’s residence.

April 12, 2016 - On Sunday, March 06th, 2016 Patrol Deputy Bradley Horton took a report from a Christopher Adams regarding a burglary and theft incident that had occurred at his property located on County Road 3000 in Joaquin.

The unknown suspect(s) illegally appropriated the following property: a Gravely 50” Zero Turn Mower, a Briggs/Stratton Tiller Engine, a Dewalt 1/2" impact with battery, a handheld grinder, a skilsaw and a China Cabinet.

March 14, 2016 - A Shelby County viewer reported receiving a call from the IRS this morning from (907) 306-7138 and was instructed to pay taxes or be penalized or arrested. Always use caution when receiving phone calls were the caller is threatening and demanding payment of money owed.
