Wellness Wednesday Starts February 28th

February 21, 2024 - Lunch and Learns are back with a new name, Wellness Wednesdays. Wellness Wednesdays will continue to be held on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 12 noon at the Extension Office with great speakers.   

This month’s Wellness Wednesday is February 28th. The students of Center High School’s Culinary department will be making healthy snack options. Danbert Collum, owner of The Forge, will talk about the importance of fitness and talk about healthy meal prepping. We are looking forward to a very fun and informative session.

Get Fired Up for Grill Fest 2024

February 12, 2024 - Fire up your grills, start working on your bean recipes and start mastering your margaritas and bloody mary drinks! Grill Fest 2024, presented by Farmers State Bank, will be held Saturday, March 16th with set up and cooking starting on the evening of March 15th. In addition to the food and beverage competitions there will be a Washer Pitching Tournament and 42 Tournament. Steve Adams, Karoke will provide musical entertainment.

Deleite New Owner Ribbon Cutting on Feb. 21

February 1, 2024 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors invite the public to join them at a New Owner Ribbon Cutting for Deleite on Wednesday, February 21st at 10am.

New Owner, Yeraldy Rico, is very excited about her new business venture. Deleite is family owned and run. Deleite is the perfect place to stop for all the good, refreshing Mexican inspired treats, drinks, ice cream and more. They are known for the special Zebra Waffle.

Chamber of Commerce Seeks Award Nominations

December 27, 2023 - The 101st Annual Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Celebration & Awards, presented by Farmers State Bank, will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024. We will celebrate and recognize the achievements of 2023 and welcome a new year.

The highlight of the Celebration is our Awards presentations the Farm Family of the Year award, Young Citizen of the Year award and the Distinguished Service Award.

1885 Historic Courthouse Christmas Open House to Feature Excelsior Choir

December 8, 2023 - The public is invited to attend the 1885 Historic Courthouse Christmas Open House on Wednesday, December 13th. The Historic Courthouse will be open from 12 noon until 2:00pm for tours and refreshments. The Excelsior ISD Choir will be performing Christmas Carols at 1:00pm in the upstairs Courtroom.

The Historic Courthouse has recently undergone some improvements such as painting and the replacement of light fixtures with more period appropriate fixtures thanks to the support of Shelby County and the Shelby County Historical Commission.
