11th Annual Taste of the Holidays Reservation Tickets Available Soon

October 30, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are hosting the 11th Annual Taste of the Holidays, presented by Shelby Savings Bank, an eclectic culinary sampling and dining experience, on Thursday, November 30th from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the John D. Windham Civic Center. Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday, November 6th and will be available to be purchased at the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce office or from any Chamber Ambassador.

Carriston Hendricks to Speak at the October Lunch and Learn

October 16, 2023 - October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer and fund research, treatments and a cure.

Carriston Hendricks, a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and owner of Priority Family Healthcare, will be the speaker for the October Lunch and Learn. The October Lunch and Learn will be Wednesday, October 25th at noon at the AgriLife Extension Office located at 266 Nacogdoches Street.

2023 Health Fair Cancelled; Mammogram Units, Blood Mobile Still Available

October 13, 2023 - The 2023 Health and Fitness Fair which was scheduled for October 20th has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Mammogram Units and Gulf Coast Blood Mobile will still set up at the Windham Civic Center for those who have made appointments.

We apologize for the cancellation.

September 6, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce held a Welcome Party to introduce and welcome the 2023 East Texas Poultry Festival Queen’s Court. Reigning Queen joined the 2023 Court. Each candidate introduced herself and her Escort prior to enjoying dinner catered by B&D Barbeque.

Parking, Street Closures for the East Texas Poultry Festival

September 27, 2023 - The 47th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival is just days away. The actual Festival will be Thursday – Saturday, October 5th, 6th and 7th.

This year, San Augustine Street and Austin Street will be closed to thru traffic starting around 4:00 on Wednesday, October 4th. We will have 3 ticket booths this year – corners of San Augustine Street one at each end (same as last year) and an additional booth at the corner of Austin and Nacogdoches Street.

East Texas Poultry Festival Countdown; Doo Dah Parade Today

September 27, 2023 - Only 8 days left until the 47th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival, sponsored by Farmers State Bank, opens its gates to a weekend of fun, entertainment, arts and crafts and lots of food back on the downtown square! This year’s Poultry Festival is October 5th, 6th and 7th.

The Cutting of the Feathers will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 10am on the Frances Oates Center Stage! We are looking forward to having the school children back on stage to sing.
