Panola College Receives $63,500 from Chevron

August 7, 2015 - On August 6, 2015, Mike Milliorn, Chevron Operations Supervisor, Kim Smith, Operations Assistant, and Carlie Smith, Panola College student, presented Panola College’s Petroleum Technology program with a $63,500 donation. “We are greatly appreciative for Chevron’s continued support and generosity. It is only with the support of companies, like Chevron, that we are able to continue to grow our Petroleum Technology Program,” said Natalie Oswalt, Dean of Professional and Technical Programs.

Panola Receives $12,000 to Increase Charlie Woods Memorial Scholarship

July 1, 2015 - Nat Lankford and Harley Wilson presented the check for the Charlie Woods Memorial Scholarship to the Panola College Foundation.

On Wednesday, July 01, Mr. Harley Wilson, Nat Lankford, and Charlotte Woods presented the Panola College Foundation with a check for $12,000 to increase the Charlie Woods Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship was established three years ago by his friends and family to help sophomore students enrolling in Panola College’s petroleum technology program.

Panola Offering New Classes

July 10, 2015 - The Panola College Workforce & Continuing Education office is offering a variety of CPR courses. There are currently several dates to choose from for BLS for Healthcare Provider, Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED and Heartsaver CPR/AED. Classes can also be tailored to a specific need, group or business and set up upon request if there is sufficient enrollment. The cost for enrollment is $65 per person. Local Students Graduate from Panola College With Honors

June 1, 2015 - On Friday, May 15th, Panola College conducted its 75th commencement at the Carthage Civic Center. Panola College had 279 degree and certificate candidates and 161 of those students participated in the commencement ceremony.

Dr. Joe Shannon, Vice President of Instruction, presented the graduating class of spring 2015 as Dr. Gregory Powell, President of Panola College led the processional of board members, faculty, staff and students in to be seated while“Pomp and Circumstance” was played in the background.

Panola Announces Spring Dean's and President's Lists

May 29, 2015 - Panola College is proud to announce the following students who have been named to the Dean's and President's list for spring 2015 semester.  They are as follows:

Dean’s List
To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours with a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79. Only courses applying toward an associate degree or certificate are included in the computation.

Panola College Petroleum Program Hosts Mock Interviews

May 7, 2015 - Panola College General Business and Petroleum Technology students participated in the annual employee success class offered by the Workforce and Continuing Education Department. The course began Sunday evening, April 26th with an etiquette dinner. Amy Riestenberg of Etiquette East Texas lead the attendees through a five course meal, presenting proper etiquette along the way. The course was completed the next morning with a mock interview session where students interviewed with Panola College faculty and staff.
