Flags at Half Staff in Honor of Victims of Attack in Kabul, Afghanistan

August 27, 2021 - Today, in accordance with the President's proclamation, all flags on public buildings and grounds should be be lowered to half-staff in remembrance and as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence perpetrated on August 26, 2021, in Kabul, Afghanistan, and remain at half-staff until sunset, Monday, August 30, 2021.

Piney Woods Photographic Society "Reflections" Challenge Winners

August 26, 2021 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society held its regular monthly meeting this past Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church, Center, TX. There was a lesson on how to do Macro Photography and the August Challenge was "Reflections." Members voted, via on-line and in person for their 3 most favorite photographs submitted to the challenge.

August 20, 2021 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society (PWPS) will be holding their regular monthly meeting Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church, 211 Porter Street, Center, Texas from 9am to 12 noon. The monthly challenge will be on photographs highlighting "Reflections." There will also be a workshop on Macro Photography. CHS Alumni Committee Selects 2021 Hall of Honor Recipient

August 19, 2021 - After a large number of nominations, the CHS Alumni Association Committee has selected local attorney, John Griffin (Class of 1972) as our 2021 Hall of Honor recipient!

The Hall of Honor Award will be presented to John on Saturday, September 4th during the Annual Alumni Association Celebration (doors open at 9am, celebration is from 10am-11am at the Windham Civic Center).
