Shelby County Community Comes Together in Aftermath of Storm

February 21, 2021 - The Shelby County Emergency Management Office and other county officials distributed drinking water and MRE (meals ready to eat) packages at the courthouse on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Hot Food, Showers for Those in Need at Hillcrest BC

February 21, 2021 - We are offering hot food and showers at Hillcrest starting at 10am.

Pull behind the Church on the right side to the gym/fellowship hall in back (we are not inside the Church). We will also be delivering plates to those in need.

We have bottled water and will distribute it until supply runs out.

Hillcrest Baptist Church is located at 901 Southview Circle in Center (U.S. Highway 96 South).

February 20, 2021 - Cheeseburgers and water for those in need are available at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Center.

Sabine State Bank Opens at Noon Friday, Extends Saturday Hours

February 19, 2021 - Sabine State Bank will open at noon today, February 19 and will extend banking hours on Saturday, February 20 until 2pm. Please check back for updates as weather conditions change.

Shelby Savings Bank Remains Closed Thursday

February 18, 2021 - Due to inclement weather, all Shelby Savings Bank locations will remain closed on Thursday, February 18th, and tentatively reopen on Friday, February 19th at 9am.

Outreach Ministries Extends Closure Until Monday Due to Winter Weather

February 18, 2021 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries will remain closed for the entire week. All programs will resume operations on Monday.

Fannie Brown Booth Library Closes for the Week

February 16, 2021 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library will be closed this week due to the icy roads and colder-than-normal temperatures. The library will open next Tuesday, February 23rd. If anyone has books that are due, please keep them until weather conditions are better. No fines will be charged. Please stay safe and warm!

Focused Care Announces Valentine's Day King, Queen of Social

February 15, 2021 - Focused Care held their annual Valentine Social on February 14, 2021. Although, the social involved social distancing making it different this year, the residents and staff still got to vote for their favorite resident. The Focused Care of Center 2021 Valentine King is Danny Steadman and the 2021 Valentine Queen is Sophie Cartwright.
