January 8, 2021 - In the small town of Tenaha, Texas, any news is big news. This year will prove particularly newsworthy for Tenaha’s own historic King’s Nursery as 4th generation owner and manager Dr. Andrew King returns home to take over the family business.
Andrew and his family return from College Station where he earned a PhD in Horticulture from Texas A&M University and where he served on the faculty in the Department of Horticultural Sciences for the past five years.

January 6, 2021 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas January meeting has been cancelled. After discussion, it was decided it is best to forego the January meeting. The numbers are climbing in the US, in Texas, in Shelby County and in the schools. Hopefully by February, after people start getting the vaccine, the meetings can resume. Stay safe.

December 23, 2020 - Christopher Luna was among the students who received degrees during the 2020 Fall semester at Sam Houston State University. Luna, a 2016 Graduate of Center High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.
December 22, 2020 - Shelby County Outreach Ministries will be closing at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, and will be closed on the following Thursday and Friday in observance of Christmas.
