December 10, 2020 - If you were among the 88 people tested in the free COVID-19 Drive-Thru testing on Tuesday, please be patient. You will be contacted once the results are received. The hopes were the results would be known within 24 to 48 hours; however, it is possible the results may take longer.
Please note, the United Pentecostal Church which allowed their property to be used for the testing site, they do NOT have any testing results.
It is possible another Drive-Thru Test Clinic will be held again in Shelby County after Christmas.
December 10, 2020 - The family of Michael Bowlin would like to thank everyone for all the kindness, texts, flowers and food. And to all the truck drivers that made Michael's last ride so meaningful. Each one of you have a special place in our hearts.
December 9, 2020 - The Center Woman’s Reading Club met November 19 with Alease Copelin serving as program leader and hostess.
The club has moved its meeting time to twelve noon to accommodate women who work outside the home and can easier attend meeting during lunch time. The meetings last about one hour.
December 8, 2020 - Since 1946 the Veterans of Foreign Wars has conducted the essay program for high school students called Voice of Democracy. This program has provided millions and millions of dollars in scholarship money to the youth of our nation during the past 74 years.
Each student entering records a 3 to 5 minute audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme was “Is This the Country the Founders Envisioned?”
December 8, 2020 - The deadline for turning in forms is over! However, we are still needing Toys! 300 kids to fill for this year! Toys or Monetary donations can be turned into the Center Police Dept! Please help us, to make sure these kids have a Blessed Christmas!
December 7, 2020 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade Committee announces the winners of the 21st Annual Santa’s Christmas Parade, sponsored by Shelby Savings Bank, which was held on Saturday, December 5th. The theme for the parade was “A Rustic Christmas”.
December 5, 2020 - SAKS Of Love blessed their Shelby County community with a Christmas Toy Giveaway on December 5, 2020. They served over 30 families and 75+ children. They would like to thank Union Acres for allowing them come.
