Don't Just Celebrate Valentine's Day in February

February 9, 2021 - Valentine's Day is almost here but it's not the only day in February to Celebrate!

February 11th is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. It is a day to honor women's achievements in science as well as focus on girls entering stem programs and careers. STEM, which stands for “science, technology, engineering and mathematics,” is the fastest growing segment of jobs with not enough employees to fill the positions. Take time to learn about women in science and encourage young women to pursue STEM.

Everyone there was helpful and very nice; the nursing students from Panola College did a great job administering the vaccine and checking on each patient. Their treatment and kindness is far beyond what I experienced in boot camp; half naked and receiving injections from two unfeeling corpsmen, delivering an injection in each arm simultaneously, no complaining allowed!
