Reminder to Lower Flags to Half-Staff for Patriot''s Day

September 9, 2020 - Friday, September 11 is Patriot's Day. All flags should be flown at half-staff from sunup to sundown. If you cannot have your flag lowered at sunup please lower it the evening before. SCCAC Awarded $10,000 Grant

September 3, 2020 - The Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center received a grant in the amount of $10,000 from the John Harris Community Fund at East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF).

These funds will be used to retain contract mental health therapists who will provide counseling at no charge to the children and families who qualify for our services.

We are grateful to ETCF for their support of our agency and their investment in the wellbeing of children in our community.

Hurricane Laura Knocks Down 100 Year Old Tree

September 1, 2020 - Hurricane Laura blew through Shelby County the morning of August 27th and brought down a Water Oak tree (Quercus Nigra) which is believed to be over 100 years old.
