August 17, 2020 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society held their regular monthly meeting this past Saturday. The August Challenge was "Spring Fling" with photographs submitted by members for voting by club members for their favorites.
August 14, 2020 - Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center says 'thank you' to Shelbyville ISD, Tenaha ISD, San Augustine ISD, and Timpson ISD for participating in the effort to end child abuse and advocate for the children in your classroom.

August 12, 2020 - Two Shelby County people received degrees during the 2020 Summer semester at Sam Houston State University.
From Center, Stephanie Presa who is a 2016 Graduate of Center High School received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Major in Accounting.
From Joaquin, Christina Whitehead who is a teacher and coach at Tenaha ISD received a Master of Education, Instructional Systems Design and Technology degree.
August 12, 2020 - Shelby County Historian Walter Bounds shares a glimpse back to 1991 when the medical equipment in the closed Shelby General Hospital was shipped to Ukraine, Russia. The project was done by the Texas Baptist Men's organization who purchased the equipment, disassembled it, and shipped it to the Ukraine as a humanitarian act.

August 4, 2020 - The Center Noon Lions Club has for sale for a limited time their popular Princess Brooms.
They are available at King's Nursery and Florist in Tenaha and Ivan Smith Furniture Store in Center. These brooms are only available for a limited time.
