January 10, 2019 - A large turn out of the community attended the new member Ribbon Cutting for the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce’s newest member, East Texas Collision Center on Thursday, January 10th.
January 10, 2019 - Shakoya Cartwright received her Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree during the December 2018 commencement ceremonies at Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas.
January 10, 2019 Huntsville, Texas - Dominique Roland received a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree during the Fall 2018 commencement ceremonies at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
Ms. Roland is a teacher at Shelbyville ISD and was selected Teacher of the Week in September 2018 by the football team. Ms. Roland has been teaching for a total of 10 years.
January 9, 2019 - Shelby County AgriLife Extension hosted an Elected Officials Luncheon on Friday, December 7, 2018 with 4-H officers providing the program.
January 9, 2019 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year. In 1919, Butler Johnson was elected the first President of the Chamber of Commerce and presided over a Board of 27 members. Through out this coming year, the Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize business members, past Chamber Presidents, Board members, Staff, projects and activities from the past 100 years.
Baylor University Confers Degrees on Fall Graduates
January 8, 2019 Waco – M. Lynn Davis of Center graduated in December from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Management Information Systems.
Baylor University conferred degrees on more than 900 graduates during fall commencement exercises December 15, 2018, in the Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus.
January 3, 2018 - Area 1 Coordiator Janice Sutton visited Delta Gamma at their December meeting in San Augustine. President Wendy Watson welcomed Janice and presented her with a holiday wreath.
She brought greetings from state and enjoyed the program presented that night.
December 31, 2018 - Due to the New Year’s holiday, trash pickup will be delayed one day. Tuesday pick up will be on Wednesday; Thursday pick up will be on Friday; and Friday’s pick up will be on Saturday.
