May 15, 2017 - Three Shelby County graduates were among those to receive degrees at the University of Texas at Tyler 2017 spring commencement ceremonies held May 5 – 6. One thousand one hundred and thirty six degree candidates were recognized in the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.

May 12, 2017 - On behalf of the more than 2100 member families we are pleased to announce the winners of the Shelby Co. Farm Bureau scholarship winners for 2017. Congratulations to Konner Windham, Monica Olalde, Whitlee Reed, and Tressie Morgan from Center High School and Brooke Dorsey from Joaquin High School. Good luck to these ladies as they start their college career!

These students were eligible for the scholarship because of their family's Farm Bureau membership. We at Shelby Co. Farm Bureau continue to support agriculture and youth activities in Shelby County.

May 12, 2017 - First Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ is hosting a sweet treat fundraiser which make a perfect treat for Mother's Day Delight or to treat yourself. Treats include hand dipped chocolate covered sweet treats, peanut butter balls, or Oreo Balls. Package of six for $5 or Bakers Dozen *13* for $10.

May 11, 2017 - District III Texas Garden Clubs Southern Zone Director Linda Goller installed the 2017-2019 Center Garden Club Officers at their May 10 meeting in the home of Alison Scull. Members enjoyed a salad luncheon and made plans for the coming year.
