June 2, 2017 - The Shelby County Constables would like to thank Leonard Dupuis, Bobby Head, and Gibson Environmental Services for the generous donation of five body cameras. These cameras will not only protect the constables, but also the citizens of Shelby County. We appreciate that you appreciate law enforcement and the members of our community. June 2, 2017 - The Relay For Life of Shelby County was such a blast last year! It gave us the chance to get together with some old friends and the opportunity to make some new ones. We shared stories of hope, strength, and love. There was laughter, tears, and feelings of connection through our Relay For Life community. The money we raised went to fund groundbreaking cancer research and patient programs. We made a real impact.
Baylor University Confers Degrees on Spring 2017 Graduates
June 2, 2017 Waco - Baylor University conferred degrees on more than 2500 graduates during spring commencement exercises May 12 and 13 in the Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus. Among the graduates was Olivia Grace Worsham, a 2013 Joaquin graduate, and she received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Communication Studies.
May 31, 2017 - It is What-A-Melon Festival time again and we are working hard to make this year even bigger and better than last year. Thanks to community support, last year was a success and we look for 2017 to be another great year. We are hoping that you will be a sponsor of the 2017 festival - July 6th, 7th, and 8th. May 31, 2017 - The Fannie Brown Booth Library is closed again today due our electrical pole being knocked down. With the electric companies being so busy with storm damage around the area, we do not know when our power will be restored. We are sorry for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience in this matter.
