VFW Post 8904 Remembers September 11, 2001

September 5, 2017 - Those who we lost on September 11, 2001, will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts and in the history of our nation. By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001, (Public Law 107-89), Congress authorized the president to designate September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day" to perpetuate the memory of those who perished in the attack on America and to pursue peace and justice in the world and security at home.

Sheriff's Department Still Accepting Donations for Hurricane Victims

September 5, 2017 - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is still accepting donations for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Donations will be accepted until 4 p.m. Friday, September 8.

The donations will be carried to the Vidor area Saturday, September 9. Items needed included cleaning supplies - bleach, clorox wipes, garbage bags, paper towels, brooms, fans, non-perishable food items, feminine products, diapers, baby wipes, juice boxes, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.

CMS Students Adopt Houston-area School; Seeking Donations

September 4, 2017 - CMS Students ask for community donations to help supply a Houston-area school following hurricane Harvey.

CMS Junior Chamber of Commerce and Junior BETA Club have joined forces to adopt a school affected by the storm. Goodson Middle School, with a population of over 1200, is located in Cypress, Texas. CMS is planning to collect donations for the students to help in making the beginning of the school year a bit easier.
