November 13, 2015 - During the Joaquin High School Veterans Day program that was held Wednesday, November 11th, 2015, Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary announced the post winners of this year’s Voice of Democracy competition.

Several members of the Farmers State Bank Cook team showed up at the Shelbyville vs. West Sabine game last Friday night, and cooked some of the best burgers, boudain and sausage on a stick around!

November 11, 2015 - The Center Women’s Reading Club met at the lovely home of Fannie Watson on November 5, 2015. President Janene Walker presided. The business portion of the meeting was conducted.
November 11, 2015 CENTER – The Center Athletic Boosters Club announced the winners of the 2015 MEGA Raffle at the final Center Roughrider football game, Friday, October 30, 2015. Shelby Savings Bank was the raffle sponsor.
November 11, 2015 - The Delta Gamma chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met November 9 in Center, which was catered by Lynne Locke. Members donated toys and books to the San Augustine Empty Stocking Fund.
November 10, 2015 - Lions Club and Rotary Club meet for a Washer Tournament and Fish Fry on Monday, November 2nd for a time of fellowship with one another and fun.
November 9, 2015 - Santa Claus recently delivered an invitation to Alease Copelin, the recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Service Award, to serve as Grand Marshal of the 16th annual Santa’s Christmas Parade presented by Shelby Savings Bank, which will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
November 6, 2015 - Weather enthusiast, Larry Rymal, submitted photos of Truitt Cemetery Road off of Highway 7 towards Joaquin, Texas which was overcome by rain water. Rymal said, "This little creek bridge tried its best, but this Friday morning’s 1.8” rain storm was too much for it to handle." Flooding at this location is a regular even during quick and heavy rains.
More rain is expected this afternoon through Saturday.
November 6, 2015 - The Rio Theatre will be hosting Woodlawn, a limited release Christian movie about a football team who overcomes diversity together, starting Friday, November 6th and running through Tuesday, November 10th.
