November 3, 2021 - World War II Veteran, Mr. Allen Baker and his bride of 69 years, Bobbie wrap themselves in the Quilt of Valor he received from the Shelby County 4-H Heart to Hands Project, Texas A&M AgriLife extension.
November 2, 2021 - Bro. Vance Jordan was presented the Abner V. McCall Service Award Monday evening by the Waco Scottish Rite Body in recognition of his selfless work in Masonry, Scottish Rite Masonry, his church and his community.
October 28, 2021 - Tenaha Masonic Lodge #737 held their bi-annual "Clean the Highway" trash pickup on Saturday morning, October 23, 2021. Masons and family members helped to make a difference on Loop 157 in Tenaha, TX.
October 13, 2021 - Friends of the Library will be conducting their fall book sale at the Fannie Brown Booth Library from October 28 to October 30.
The library is located at 619 Tenaha Street, Center, TX. The sale will run Thursday, October 28 from 10am until 6pm, Friday, October 29 from 10am until 4pm, and the final day is Saturday, October 30 from 10am until 2pm. Proceeds benefit the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library.
October 27, 2021 - The students of Joaquin High School will present a Veteran’s Day Program on Thursday, November 11, 9:00 am in the High School Gym. The highlight of the program is the introduction of our local veterans to our community, honoring them for their service to our country. If you know a veteran or anyone who has served in the Armed Forces, please invite them to attend. The student council will be hosting a breakfast reception in the HS library for our veterans and their family members following the ceremony.
October 25, 2021 - VFW Post 8904 and Auxiliary honored Women in Military with a ceremony held October 18, 2021, in front of the Shelby County Veterans Memorial beside the 1885 Historic Courthouse.
The event was attended by post members and members of the public alike.
October 26, 2021 - Center Garden Club met on October 13 at the home of Carolyn Bounds. Following a soup and salad lunch and a short business meeting, members adjourned to participate in a “hands-on” hypertufa workshop for creating molded flower pots.
