Next Gen to Honor Patriot Day with 1,000 Flags Downtown

September 8, 2021 - This Saturday marks the 20th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Across the United States, cities, towns, communities large and small and college campuses have been honoring the nearly 3,000 victims of this horrible tragedy by placing 3,000 flags in public spaces.

On Friday, September 10th, the Next Gen group, along with area Junior Chamber of Commerce students will place 1,000 on the historic courthouse lawn. The goal will be to have 3,000 flags next year and to continue with tradition.

VFW Post 8904 to Remember September 11, 2001 with Patriot Day Observance

As Patriot Day falls on Saturday we will observe on Friday. Begin at 9:00 a.m.

September 7, 2021 - Those who we lost twenty years ago on September 11, 2001, will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts and in the history of our nation. By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001, (Public Law 107-89), Congress authorized the president to designate September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day" to perpetuate the memory of those who perished in the attack on America and to pursue peace and justice in the world and security at home.
