August 27, 2021 - Today, in accordance with the President's proclamation, all flags on public buildings and grounds should be be lowered to half-staff in remembrance and as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence perpetrated on August 26, 2021, in Kabul, Afghanistan, and remain at half-staff until sunset, Monday, August 30, 2021.

August 25, 2021 - Families who signed up to show in the 2021 East Texas Poultry Festival Broiler Show are picking up their chickens today! Be sure to know your pen number and to bring directions to your house with you. This is required before you can pick up your chicks.

August 20, 2021 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society (PWPS) will be holding their regular monthly meeting Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church, 211 Porter Street, Center, Texas from 9am to 12 noon. The monthly challenge will be on photographs highlighting "Reflections." There will also be a workshop on Macro Photography.
