“The Pesky Pet” by Neal Murphy

October 14, 2022 - For several years I worked as an interior painter and installed wallpaper in many homes in the area. Working inside people’s homes can be an interesting situation. I encountered numerous obstacles of different kinds ranging from hard-to please customers to pesky pets. Usually I had to work around cats, dogs, birds, pot-belly pigs, and on one occasion a pet snake. One job stands out as particularly interesting.

Honor Women in the Military on Oct. 18

October 12, 2022 - Women in the military have a history that extends over 400 years into the past throughout a large number of cultures and nations.  World Wars I and II saw over 362,000 American women serving during war time.  Today women make up 16% of the US military enlisted and 19% of the officer corps and their role has changed significantly over the years from clerical duties to ground combat soldiers to fighter pilots.

Paxton Calls Attention to Domestic Violence Awareness Month on “Go Purple Day”

October 12, 2022 – For the eighth consecutive year, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his Agency employees will participate in the Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) “Go Purple Day.” On Thursday, October 20, OAG employees are encouraged to wear purple in support of domestic violence survivors and to raise awareness of and take a stand against domestic violence.
