Estimated $13 Million in Funding Available for the Texas Clean School Bus Program

TCEQ is now accepting applications for the Texas Clean School Bus (TCSB) Program. Total funding based on projected allocations. 

February 7, 2022 - The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is now accepting applications for the Texas Clean School Bus (TCSB) Program. An estimated $13 million in grant funding is available to replace or retrofit school buses to help reduce children’s exposure to diesel exhaust in and around diesel-fueled school buses.

February 7, 2022 - Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (Bridgestone) is recalling certain Firestone Transforce HT, size LT275/70R18 with DOT code VN15TH71821and Transforce AT, size LT275/70R18 with DOT code VN15TR91821. The tires were manufactured with an incorrect inner liner compound, which could cause increased inner liner permeability or cracking, resulting in belt separation.

Dottie West volunteered to give a short program on Louisa May Alcott. Ms. West found an article on Ms. Alcott in the December issue of National Geographic’s December issue. The issue offered information and facts about Ms. Alcott that are not commonly known.

Musician Buddy Holly was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1936. And on this day in 1959 he was riding in a small plane, along with singers Ritchie Valens and J. P. Richardson, on their way to a concert. The plane crashed into a lonely, frozen, Iowa cornfield. All were lost. Buddy Holly was just 22 years old. Perhaps no other popular musician has had such an impact in so short a time.
