Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Doubles Enchanted Rock State Natural Area with Expansion

January 14, 2025 — The Texas Hill Country is about to get more “enchanting” thanks to the recent purchase of a 3,073-acre property adjacent to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area in Llano County. This property will double the amount of publicly available land at one of Texas’ most popular state parks.

East Texas Communities Foundation Announces Scholarships Available for East Texas Students

January 7, 2025 - East Texas Communities Foundation is currently accepting applications from East Texas students for scholarships to be awarded for the 2025-2026 academic year. The deadline for submission of the online application is March 1, 2025. Land Commissioner Kicks Off 29th Annual Treasures of Texas Coast Children’s Art Contest

January 7, 2025 - Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., is thrilled to kick off the 29th Annual Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art Contest supported by the Texas General Land Office’s (GLO) Adopt-A-Beach Program. All public, private, and homeschooled Texas kindergarten through sixth-grade students are invited to participate in the contest. Students' artwork should illustrate why the Texas coast is important or special to each student.
