January 5, 2018 - The William Carroll Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Gateway to Texas Chapter of the Sons of the Republic of Texas gathered together in December for their annual Christmas meeting and luncheon.

January 4, 2018 Austin - Today, Texas State Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) and Texas State Representative Travis Clardy (R-Nacogdoches) announced a significant allocation of funding for Rusk State Hospital. 

January 3, 2018 - Two new construction projects located in three Lufkin District counties are beginning this week and next week in Nacogdoches, Shelby and Sabine counties that are scheduled to upgrade guardrail to design standards.

January 2, 2018 - New and updated property tax information has just been compiled by Shelby County Appraisal District and is available now to assist taxpayers.  This property tax information is current and covers a wide range of topics, such as taxpayer remedies, exemptions, appraisals and is of value to select groups, such as disabled veterans and persons who are 65 years of age or older.
