I-10 Eastbound Lanes Closed at Texas-Louisiana Border

March 16, 2016 - AUSTIN – Eastbound lanes of I-10 were closed early Wednesday at the Texas-Louisiana state line as rising floodwaters from excessive rainfall covered the interstate. Louisiana officials had halted westbound traffic earlier on Tuesday when water from the swollen Sabine River went across those lanes on the Texas side. March 16, 2016 - The space shuttle, officially called the Space Transportation System (STS), began its flight career with Columbia’s lift off from Launch Pad 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 12, 1981. This first mission verified the combined performance of the orbiter vehicle its twin solid rocket boosters, giant external fuel tank and three space shuttle main engines.  The orbiter is the only part of the shuttle “stack” that makes it into orbit.

National Agriculture Day Honors Stewards of a Healthy Planet

March 15, 2016 - March 15 is National Agriculture Day – a day designated each year by the Agriculture Council of America to celebrate the accomplishments of agriculture. Texas FSA joins the council in recognizing farmers and ranchers for their contributions to the nation’s outstanding quality of life. This year’s theme is Agriculture: Stewards of a Healthy Planet.
