March 7, 2024 - Fort Phantom Hill Reservoir, just north of Abilene, joined the list of public reservoirs in Texas that have produced a Legacy Class ShareLunker largemouth bass. Eric Lewis of Haskell reeled in 13.33-pound ShareLunker 660 Sunday as Fort Phantom Hill became the 77th public waterbody to achieve that feat.

March 6, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, March 6.

In April of 1962, President John F. Kennedy hosted a dinner at the White House. In attendance were 49 Nobel Prize winners.  Robert Oppenheimer was there, too. And when JFK rose to speak, he began with these words -

"I think that this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

March 4, 2024 – Traffic changes are coming on US 59, north of Lufkin, beginning next week.

Starting Sunday, March 10, crews will begin work to replace a culvert beneath US 59, just south of FM 2021. Traffic will be shifted from northbound lanes to form a two-lane traffic pattern in the southbound lanes, forming one lane for traffic in each direction.
