April 16, 2018 - The students of Excelsior ISD recently held a "Pennies for Patients" fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma society is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers. The "Pennies for Patients" program helps fund research for therapies that save the lives of blood cancer patients.
March 21, 2018 - On Friday, March 9, Excelsior ISD enjoyed their first annual Vocabulary Parade. Pre-K through third grades picked their vocabulary word and made signs and costumes to represent that word. They were quite creative and did a fantastic job! Parents and grandparents were present for the event. The parade was a huge success and we can plan on another vocabulary parade next year!
March 20, 2018 - Mrs. Keli Chandler’s first grade class at Excelsior School enjoyed a visit from Newbern Masonic Lodge where members talked to them about tooth care and gave each student a toothbrush. Thank you Newbern Masonic Lodge for visiting Excelsior!
March 5, 2018 - Excelsior teachers, Mrs. Jennifer Cecil and Mrs. Alyson Porter, along with their second and third students celebrated Dr. Seuss’ Birthday and Read Across America on Friday, March 2. The teachers read Dr. Seuss books all week and students made hats for the occasion. Dr. Seuss themed refreshments were served at the party. Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
March 1, 2018 - We would like to say congratulations to Jada Jacobs, who is currently in 7th grade at Excelsior School. She competed against 22 other schools in the talent division at the State Beta Convention in Grapevine, TX.
