Shelby County Sheriff Reports Capture of Wanted Suspect (Update 10/26)

October 26, 2022 - Shelby County Sheriff Kevin Windham reports the search for Bryan Aleck Krolczyk has come to an end. Krolczyk was located in the attic of his residence and was arrested by the San Augustine Sheriff's Office and San Augustine Police Department this evening, October 26, 2022.

UPDATE 3:30 P.M.: The search for Krolczyk is now in San Augustine County at Hwy 21 and Spur 85. Please use caution if traveling this direction.

Sheriff Seeks Whereabouts of Goodman

October 25, 2022 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of Terry Wayne Goodman, 53, of Rusk. Goodman is described as a white male, 5’6” tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and red hair.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Goodman in reference to a 2000 Ford Ranger that was reported missing from Carroll Street in Joaquin on Monday, October 24.

Denning Rural Water System Rescinds Boil Water Notice

October 25, 2022 - The water on Denning Rural WSC no longer requires boiling.

On October 18, 2022, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Denning Rural Water Supply, #2030004, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Shelby County Appraisal District Internet, Phone Restored

October 25, 2022 - (10:22am): Phone and internet have been restored.

The Shelby County Appraisal District internet and phones are currently down today, October 25, 2022. Once they are up and running again, this information will be updated.

Joaquin VFD Report Includes 6 Calls for Week of Oct. 16-22

October 24, 2022 - The week of October 16th through 22nd was host to another 6 calls for the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department. Here’s a summary of the weeks events.

The first page of the week came in the wee hours of Monday morning in regards to a woman having trouble breathing on Private Road 120. The JVFD EMR team responded to provide some urgent medical attention.

SH 7 East Scene of Two-Vehicle Crash in James Community

October 18, 2022 - State Highway 7 in the James Community was the scene of a two-vehicle crash October 7, 2022.

When emergency personnel arrived, both vehicles involved were on the westbound shoulder located off the roadway.

Sheriff Reports Arrest of Two in Theft Case; Recovers 35 Items

October 18, 2022 - Sheriff Kevin W. Windham reports the arrest of Avery Brown, 27, of Huntsville and Raina Baker, 32, of Center, for theft in regards to an incident that occurred on October 14, 2022, in Timpson.

Notice of Public Test of Automatic Tabulating Equipment

October 17, 2022 - Notice is hereby given that the automatic tabulating equipment that will be used in the General Election held on November 8, 2022 will be tested for Election Day Voting on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the County Clerk’s Office to ascertain that it will accurately count the votes cast for all positions on the ballot.
