June 6, 2018 - On Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the 273rd Judicial District Court of Shelby County with Judge Charles Mitchell presiding, it took a jury less than an hour to return a verdict terminating the parental rights of the Shelbyville Couple who was previously accused of placing a 4-year-old child in a dog crate along with other abuse allegations. The jury's verdict in the interest of the now 5-year-old child was unanimous.
May 31, 2018 - Barber was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 in Joaquin by Pct. 3 Constable Roy Cheatwood. She was booked into the Shelby County Jail on warrants for Assault Causing Bodily Injury (M-A) $2,500 bond and Theft of Property (M-B) $1,500 bond.
May 30, 2018 - A two-vehicle collision at 10pm at the intersection of FM 699 and US 84 in the Paxton Community sent two Tenaha men to the hospital for evaluation on Memorial Day.

May 25, 2018 San Augustine County – A traffic stop yeilded 217 pounds of marijuana in San Augustine County Thursday morning, May 24, 2018 ending in the arrest of an Arkansas man.
May 24, 2018 - A pre-construction meeting was held Thursday in the Nacogdoches Area Office, signaling the beginning of a new construction project planned for SH 7, northeast of Martinsville.
The work will include road resurfacing on a 7-mile section of the roadway from the Attoyac Bayou to Mt. Hermon. Moore Brothers Construction, Lufkin, will serve as contractor for the $1.8 million construction project. The work is scheduled to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.
