Driver in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 84 Flees, Goes to Jail

September 7, 2016 - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 84 (Haslam Strip) at CR 2787 where the Nu-Way is located on Monday September 5, 2016 at 12:45am. A vehicle had fled the scene previous to the arrival of officers.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Taylor Buster, an 18-wheeler that was traveling on U.S. Highway 84 was side-swiped. It was a 2011 Mack truck driven by Kevin Charles Wilson, 43, of Mansfield, La. for Key Energy Services, LLC.

Multiple Agencies Capture Suspect, Seek Second in Burglary

September 7, 2016 - Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Kurtes Lawrence was dispatched to a residence on 1970 North in reference to a burglary on the 13th of August 2016. A description was given of a vehicle that was observed occupied by two males, one of which was carrying a television from the residence and a direction of travel. The case was then turned over to Shelby County CID Investigator Michael Griffin.

Altercation Between Neighbors Results in Stabbing

September 6, 2016 - Two victims of a stabbing incident are transported to a local emergency room for treatment following an altercation between neighbors.

Center Police Department Officers responded to 1100 Garrett Street in reference to a reported stabbing on Thursday, September 1, 2016.

Detective David Haley was called out to process the crime scene where he discovered two victims, 19-year-old Carlos Booth and 18-year-old Mon-Travious Harris had been stabbed. Harris was transported to Nacogdoches Medical Center in Center for treatment.
