September 14, 2016 - Center Police Department received information on September 13, 2016, that suspect Anthony Letroy James had fled to Shreveport, LA.

September 9, 2016 - The Center Fire Department was dispatched to a mobile home on fire off Waterhouse Road September 9, 2016.

September 9, 2016 - FM 138 west of FM 1645 was the scene of an 18-wheeler crash Friday, September 9, 2016.

Texas Department of Public Safety State Troopers were dispatched to the scene as well as a Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy.

September 9, 2016 - The City of Huxley Public Water System, PWS #2100019, will be conducting water system maintenance beginning Monday, September 12, 2016 consisting of a free chlorine disinfection burnout of our distribution system. This burnout will continue till October 12, 2016. 

This is a routine maintenance procedure performed to help reduce the potential for unstable water conditions and insure high quality of water delivery to our customers.
