Public Boil Water Notice for N.E.W. Water Supply System (UPDATE)

August 27, 2016 - (UPDATE) The water no longer requires boiling as of September 2nd.

A public boil water notice for the N.E.W. Water Supply System has been issued effective Saturday, August 27, 2016 until further notice.

This is only for N.E.W. Water Supply System customers on Plant One. This includes customers on or near FM 711, CR 205, CR 203, Harmony, Fountain Town and Spring Ridge Communities.

City of Huxley Public Notice to Boil Water (Notice Lifted)

August 31, 2016 - Testing has been completed and the boil water notice for the FM 2747 and CR 2582 areas is lifted.

It is no longer necessary to boil the water prior to consumption.


August 23, 2016 - Due to a leak and water line break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the City of Huxley water system PWS 2100019 to notify customers of the need to boil their water in the FM 2747 and CR 2582 areas prior to consumption.

Shelby County Clerk Reminds Voters of Available Options

August 30, 2016 - Today, Jennifer Fountain, Shelby County Clerk, reminded Texans that voters who cannot obtain one of the seven forms of approved photo ID now have additional options when voting in person.

“My office is working to make sure all the voters in Shelby County are ready to cast a ballot,” said Fountain. “These new options for voters who cannot obtain photo ID are currently in place and will be used in the November Election.”

Commissioners Approve $2,500 for JP5 Budget

August 24, 2016 - A line item transfer of $2,500 was made to the Justice of the Peace Precinct 5 budget during the Shelby County Commissioners Court meeting held on August 22, 2016.

Michael Crouch, Justice of the Peace Precinct 5, addressed the commissioners about the need for assistance regarding expenditures in his office supplies by $894. He explained the reason for the expenditure is two docket books for his court.

Roscoe McSwain, Commissioner Precinct 1, remarked the office supply budget for JP 5 was $1,100.
