Blue Bell Ice Cream Recalls Mispackaged Rocky Road Pints Containing Cookies 'N Cream Ice Cream

May 4, 2016 - Potential Allergy Concerns for Those with Wheat and Soy Allergies

BRENHAM, Texas, May 3, 2016 – Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling select lots of Rocky Road pints produced in its Brenham, Texas, plant because they may be mispackaged and actually contain Cookies ‘n Cream Ice Cream.  That ice cream contains the undeclared allergens soy and wheat, which may present a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction risk to people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat.

DETEC Reports Outages in Shelby County (Update 12:24pm)

12:24pm update: Power has been restored to the Center South area. Crews are currently looking for a fault on the transmission line affecting the Hurstown and Huxley area now. The cause is currently unknown.


May 2, 2016 (11:59am) - Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative is currently experiencing a transmission outage affecting Center South, Hurstown and Huxley. Crews are currently onsite looking for a cause. As information becomes available, updates will be posted.

Shelby County Under Flash Flood Watch Until Sunday

April 30, 2016 - A Flash Flood watch is in effect until 7am Sunday morning for Shelby County as of 5:56am Saturday, April 30, 2016.

A line of strong and occasional severe thunderstorms continues to move northeast across much of southeast and southern Arkansas, Northeast Louisiana, and much of East Texas. A few storms could become severe. In addition, heavy rainfall will also be possible. Through 7am, locations that may be affected will generally be east of a line from Jacksonville, Texas to De Queen Arkansas.
