March 4, 2015 - The Tenaha Tigers will face the LaPoyner Flyers Friday, March 6, at 7:30pm at Leon High School in Jewett, Texas. Tenaha ISD will release school at 2pm on Friday to allow time to travel. A Tiger Fan Bus will be traveling to the game. Tickets for fan bus are $12.00 (includes admission to game) on a first come first serve basis. The Fan Bus will be departing from the Tiger Gym Parking lot at 3pm with a planned stop in Buffalo along the way for meal/restroom. The fan bus will be returning immediately after the game.
March 4, 2015 - Eight members on the Center High School Boys Powerlifting team have qualified for the Regional Powerlifting Meet in Rusk. They will weigh in on Wednesday, March 4th and lift on Thursday, March 5th.
Qualifying lifters are: Witt Dockens, Jacarlos Hall, Devincent Hoyt, Joe King, Denzel Moore, Daniel Rodriguez, Hairo Salazar, and Brendan Stanley.
March 3, 2015 - The District 22-2A All District girls basketball team members are:
Most Valuable Player (MVP) - Brooke McClure (Soph, Tenaha), Arlicia Roland (Fr, Tenaha)
Offensive Player Of Year - Ke'Anya Davis (Jr, Tenaha)
Defense Player Of Year - Daisy Sequeda (Sr, Martinsville)
Newcomer Of Year - Day'za Lane (Fr, Joaquin)
Coach of Year - Garry Davison (Tenaha)
March 3, 2015 - Shelbyville HS Girls Basketball team had a very successful season. They were second place in District with a 6-4 record and had an overall record o 21-11. They won their Bi District game by defeating Overton. They went on to win the Area game by defeating Broaddus. The next round was Regional Quarter-Finals. They beat Cushing, advancing to Regional Tournament for the first time since 1992. The team is lead by Head Coach Stephany Carter and Asst. Coach Patrick Sluga.
March 3, 2015 - The 2014-15 District 19-4A All-District selections for girls basketball have been released. Center High School Lady Riders received multiple nominations and team selections as follows:
1st Team - Cheyenne Woodard (Sr)
2nd Team - Taylor Nichols (Fr), Tynequa McGee (Jr)
March 2, 2015 - Shelby County was well represented with several 4-H members participating at the major livestock shows shooting sports events. These events had over 800 shooters competing.
March 2, 2015 - Shelbyville HS Boys and Girls Powerlifting teams had several members qualify for the Regional Powerlifting Meets.
Boys Regional Qualifiers are as follows: Christian Schilder, Corey Bearden, Octavian Burrell, and Kal Metcalf. The boys are coached by Coach Michael B. Taylor. They will compete at the Regional Meet on March 7th at 8:30 am in Elkhart, TX.
February 26, 2015 - The Center Roughrider Varsity Boys Basketball team claimed the Bi-District Championship on Tuesday, February 24th against the Jasper Bulldogs.
Led by Sophomore, Octavious Evans who scored 25 points for the night, the Riders confidently marched to victory. With a tied score at the end of the first period, the Riders quickly made adjustments and went into halftime with a defining lead over the Bulldogs, 44-25.
February 20, 2015 - Shelbyville Boys Powerlifting team competed in the Center Powerlifting meet on Thursday, February 19, 2015. Shelbyville finished 3rd over at the meet with Kal Metcalf taking Best Lifter on the Heavy Platform with a combined weight of 1565 lbs.
Shelbyville is having a good year in powerlifting with 4 lifters in the top 10 in their weight class in the region. The team is coached by Coach Michael Taylor.
