Center HS Baseball Wins Against Groesbeck; Advance to Regional Quarter Finals

May 18, 2015 - The Center High School Varsity Baseball team claimed the Area Championship in Gary last Friday night in a dominate double header against Groesbeck.

The Riders outscored the Goats 29-2 in a two game series that sends them to the next round of playoffs this week.

The Roughriders will be against a familiar foe, the Hudson Hornets.

The series will begin on Thursday night, May 21st in Gary with game time at 7 PM. Game 2 will be on Friday night, May 22nd in Gary at 7 PM and if needed, Game 3 will be on Saturday, May 23rd in Gary at 1 PM.

Center 4-H Competes at Annual Shotgun Games

May 13, 2015 - The 4th annual District 5 Shotgun games was held at Pines Gun Club in Lufkin, Texas on Saturday May 9th, 2015. District 5 consists of twenty- two counties. Shelby County 4h shooters had 14 kids participating; Hagan Craig, Tucker Scarber, Seth Shamblin, Kutter Milford, Jaxon Brittain Trey Box, Colton Gutermuth, Corey Denney, Logan Holloway, Lance Holloway, Aidan Arwine, Nic Lambert, Collin Vickers and Wade Baty.

Ladner Named All-American Southwest Conference Player of 2015

May 6, 2015 - LeTourneau University freshman Kristen Ladner of the women’s tennis team was named All-American Southwest Conference Player of 2015 after a standout first year with the YellowJackets.

Center Roughrider Baseball Takes First in District

May 4, 2015 - The Center Roughriders Baseball team secured first place in district last Friday night after a victory over Rusk. The Riders will be in first round playoff action this weekend against Huntington. Game 1 will be on Friday, May 8th in Center at 7 PM. Game 2 will be played on Saturday, May 9th at 1 PM in Huntington. Game 3 will follow 30 minutes following game 2 if needed.

Whitlee Reed Advances to the Texas High School Rodeo State Finals

May 4, 2015 - Whitlee Reed, a sophomore at Center High School, competed in the Region 5 High Shool Rodeo Finals in Marshall, Texas on Aprill 11th and 12th. She won Champion Barrel Racer and reserve Champion Pole Bender. Reed will compete in the THSRA State Finals on June 5th through June 13th in Abilene, Texas.

Timpson Bear Update: Regional Track Meet Results

May 4, 2015 - Timpson Boys Track Team Regional Champs - The Timpson High School boys and girls track team competed in events at the regional tournament in Palestine this past weekend with the boys track team winning the regional track meet. The top two places in each event will compete in the state meet in Austin May 15 and 16. Congratulations to all Timpson High School competitors and good luck at state!

Vaughn Advance to State Meet in High Jump

May 4, 2015 - Annabeth Vaughn placed 2nd in the Region 3 Class 2A Track and Field Meet which advanced her to the State Meet.

Annabeth will be high jumping in the Class 2A State Track and Field Meet in Austin on May 15th. Girls high jump begins at 11:00 a.m.
