Timpson Elementary School Agents for Change

February 19, 2015 - Timpson Elementary Agents for Change students are currently participating in a Reading Buddy Program. Each Agent on this committee has been assigned a younger student and is serving as their Reading Buddy for six weeks. As a Reading Buddy the Agent reads to the younger student, listens to them read, and rewards them with incentives for reading. We are in the third week of the program and everyone involved is excited and enjoying the program.

Timpson ES Pre-K News: Officers Visit About How to Be Safe

February 11, 2015 - On Tuesday, Officer Kim Graham with Timpson ISD and police chief Kent Graham with the Timpson Police Department came and talked to Pre-K about how to be safe. They talked to the students about riding in a car seat in the backseat of the car. It is not safe for children to ride in the front seat of a car without being in a car seat. Also, they talked to the student about calling 9-1-1 if someone is hurt and needs help.

Timpson HS Sponsors Teens In The Driver's Seat

February 4, 2015 - The Teens in the Driver Seat program has launched a pilot program entitled "Ride With Me". It is a parent education program that ties in with their peer to peer education program. Mrs. Danielle Smith's Family and Community Services class at Timpson High School held a pledge campaign Tuesday, February 3rd. Parents were asked to sign the pledge, take a driving safety quiz and watch an educational video.

Timpson ISD's HARPO NS-6 Launch Letter - Timpson ISD staff and BITS sponsors Vernett Richardson and Roy Platt recently received this letter from Mr. Army Curtis Nacogdoches, Amateur Ham Radio Club member, who assisted in the recent HARPO NS-6 launch. The BITS team appreciated the ham radio club's participation and assistance in this project.
