Timpson ISD Bear Update: Pre-K News, Area Track Meet Results

April 20, 2015 - Pre K News - (Pictures are taken by Penny Ramsey) This week, Timpson Elementary School Pre-K has been talking about different animals that fly. We have talked about how and why they fly, what is needed to fly and the difference in airplanes and birds. On Wednesday, Pre-K made bird nests out of twigs, grass, leaves and yarn. We talked about that birds leave in nest and lay eggs in nest. We also talked about that birds eat worms.

Timpson ISD Bear Update: Teachers of the Year

April 20, 2015 - TISD Teachers of the Year - Congratulations to the Timpson ISD teachers of the year.

    Timpson Elementary School selected Ms. Cindy Lovil.
    Timpson Middle School selected Mrs. Kristan Solomon.
    Timpson High School selected Mrs. Teresa Jourden.

These teachers will be honored along with other Shelby County teachers at the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Teacher Reception on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the John D. Windham Civic Center.

Timpson ISD Bear Update: Timpson Pre-K Visits Lufkin Zoo

April 20, 2015 - The Timpson Elementary Pre-K class went on a field trip to the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin, Texas last week. They enjoyed seeing all the animals in person that they read about in books. They also enjoyed the train ride at the zoo. The Pre-K teachers are Ms. Penny Ramsey and Mrs. Stephanie Wagstaff. Mrs. Vicki Hightower is the Pre-K paraprofessional and class photographer.

Timpson ISD Bear Update: One Act Play, Regional Golf Tournament, and Welding Contest

April 17, 2015 - Timpson High School One Act Play - Area One Act Play Competition at Panola College was held Tuesday, April 14th. The Timpson High School play Pink Lemonade for Tomorrow was named alternate play to regionals. Awards were given to: Bethany Lindgren - Hon. Mention All-Star Cast, Chorus - Hon. Mention All-Star Cast - Deon Woods, Kiasmin Page, Ty'Kuirra Bryant, Destiny Garner.

Timpson FFA Performs Well at Area Contest

April 14, 2015 - Area IX Career Development Contest April 9th 2015 --The following Timpson students completed and came home with numerous awards in team events and individual placing’s. Career Development Events build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to put their knowledge into practice. These events are designed to help a member prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging the student's technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as their knowledge of the subject matter.

Timpson Elementary Agents For Change

April 14, 2015 - On Monday, April 13th Mrs. Sparks, elementary counselor, took a representative group of Agents for Change to present the program at the Monthly Delta Gamma meeting.

Delta Gamma is the Shelby County, Sabine County, and San Augustine County chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International which is an organization for key women educators.

Mrs. Sparks is a member of this chapter and they asked for her to bring her Agents for Change to talk about the organization and what they do.
